My volvo radio is not working and says ''code''

We just unlocked a 98 Volvo S-70 radio,on the front,you have 2 slots across from each other,use you finger nails or a dime to get it to come out,then you can pull it out,then get the serial number and write it down,then put stereo back in,then get your vin number,it's on your insurance card,then call dealer and ask for your radio code,they will ask for vin number and radio serial code,if your radio says code,then you can enter it,ifit says off,then it's locked,you have 3 tries till it locks and it says off,if it says off,then you turn key to number 1,turn radio on,wait 2 hours,then it will say code,then enter code and radio will unlock,our code is 5513 if you want to see if it will work for you.Here's a link to you owners manual,read about the radio code,same as our's,but the dealer will give it to you free. 1994 Volvo 850 Watch this video. It may say C0D3 or something similar.
Assuming that the radio is original to the car, collect your VIN and fill out the Volvo's customer service form. You should have an answer in a business day or two.

notify a dealer the radio un-loc code is part of ur security system dealer has access to the radio code- call first they can also advise on how to retrieve the radio id code which will also be needed or if have vehicle manual in it explains how to get radio id code[ number]

If the dealer performed the work I would be VERY persistant in them getting your radio fixed. Talk to the Service Director.

Volvo codes are usually readily available for free from your Volvo dealer providing you can quote the VIN and Radio Serial Number

Hello there. I have a Volvo V70 that I bought recently and it had the same problem. I left the ignition switched on for about two hours and after that time the reading had changed from OFF to Code. I then entered the code and Hey Presto It worked. When I purchased the car it too had no code. I went to a Volvo Dealership, with proof of ownership of the vehicle i.e. Log Book and proof of ID , I used my Passport, and they gave me the radio code.The only dowside was I had to pay them £10 for this code but I feel it was worth it. I suggest you try this too. Good Luck.

I'm pretty sure that you can call any Volvo dealer and get the code...talk to the service manager.

You can pay for codes online but there is no real need to.

a radio repair shop will recode it for about £15 $25

I have a 1995 850 volvo im trying to figure out the radio code my battery went dead an I charged it up then the radio was asking for a code then it switch to off im looking for the code so the radio will work again
