door change doesnt affect the immobilizer ---depending on how hard or the extent of damage sounds like theirs more damage else where to wiring -electronics -components
Wiggle the wiring harness that goes between the right side door and the A pillar while having someone hold the power mirror switch at driver side door .
the pigtail is about 8" long to a connection under the dash.If you have a new door an hand the answer is obvious. if you don't have the wires at the door they are unplugged inside.
Is there signifacant damage to said door? or is it fine? I would have to look at it. I would say leave it if there are no air leaks and it closes tight? It should be fine. buying a new door you would have to paint the door jam and the outer panel. unless by luck you find the same color door at a junk yard. Good luck Please rate me on here.
The panel is attached with plastic clips, if you damage them replacements are available. Chances are you won"t be able to repair the belt retractor as it"s a sealed mechinism.
Start by removing the plastic insert at the door handle. This can be pried out with a screw driver, remove the door handle, prior out the plastic tabs, remove the screws there will be approximately four or five screws, lift the panel up and pull awar from the door. Remove the door regulator, you do this by using a punch and pundh out the rivets, then you drill out the aluminum holding in the glass using 1/4 inch drill bit, remove the door regulator and check for damage, you also need to remove the door motor and take it apart. The door motor will have three plastic plugs in the motor remove these, you can purchase new plugs at any auto store for $8.51, howevwer I would recommend you replace with ball bearings which can be purchased for $.64 cents each at any hardware store, pack the motor with wheel bearing grease and replace. You will need 1/4 inch bolts and lock washweer and nuts to replace the door regulator. Normally the switch will not be the problem. I would recommend you replace all the door regulators and rebuild all the motors. If one is going bad the others will follow. Expect to take allday to complete the job. Door regulators can be purchased on line for around $18 to 30 dollars. Good luck.
there could be lots of reasons. you need to get a obd2 code reader or someone with relevant diagnostic gear to help. sounds like you have a problem with the can network the drivers door module is part of that system so is the security system. it may let not start the engine go to someone with correct diagnostic equipment thats my advise
go to dealer with VIN # and get a new door key cut easiest thing I am not sure what the cost would be but if the ign and door keys are the same he could opt. not to get the programmed key
