Anywhere to find a breakdown to change the door handle that broke off on a 94 pathfinder?

Enter from the other side of the vehicle. In the teens and twenties cars were usually entered from the curb (passenger) side and some lacked a door on the driver side.

Check on youtube for videos on it. You will have to remove the inner door panel-the hardest part-to get to it. Then take off the latch rods-unclip them and remove the two screws or bolts holding the old handle to the door frame, then as you remove it, work the latch rods out of their respective holes.

Remove the door's inner (interior) panel and inspect the trailing edge of the inside of the door. You should be able to see the door linkage from both the inner door handle and (what's left) of the outer handle (try moving the inner handle to see how the linkage is routed. I suspect that when the outer handle broke, its linkage dropped onto the inner handle's linkage and jammed it. With a long screwdriver, try moving the inner handle linkage to release the door latch and then replace the outer handle and its linkage (a salvage yard may be the best source and a Mitchell body repair manual should show hoe the linkage is routed and attached. the part you need is a small plastic clip that fits in the hole first , the rod is pushed through the hole and the rest of the plastic clips around the rod ,holding it in place
available fro service dealer spares or from the wreckers/junk yard s

the door latch cable sounds broke or the the door lock spring has popped, try open the door from the inside by removing the panel and pulling the cable. hope this helps ( rate me thanks )

If you can get a trim removel tool it helps to keep from breaking the clips. Next, it is just a matter of taking out all the phillips screws. There is one in the handle area, under the little center cover. There is one at the front of the door panel and another under the electrical switch. Once all the screws are out the clips still hold the panel on and that is where the trim removal tool helps. It looks like a flat tool with a recess to get around both sided of the clip. You just slide it in and pry out and that way the clip or door panel does not get broke.

I like to have a helper so when the panel comes all the way off you have someone to hold it whild you remove the connectors to the wiring. Also, when you get all the clips off you will need to lift up to get the panel off the window ledge.

Two screws under the handle mine is snapped off.
Remove the door panel, disconnect the linkage to the handle and remove 2 screws that hold the Handle on.

you must pull the door pannel, with the window up you will see 2 bolts on the inside remove the latch rod first then the bolts !!

Have you been replacing the handles with aftermarket replacements made in China. If so, spend the extra $$ to get the parts from a GM dealer. They obviously break too but perhaps not as easily.
