Hi.. I DON"T recomend to drive the car with the Check oil light ON.
Your Car Use Synthetic oil. Buy at least one quart and add to the engine.
If you Can't get Synthetic oil Put regular oil, That is better than nothing.
And Go to your Autorepair shop service, And explain the the problem
As soon as you can.

I hope this help on your problem.
Thank you for use fixya...

Simply pull the dipstick and check the oil level, if it is still showing then yes you can still drive it much longer, swing by a mechanic and ask him to check that the oil pump is working correctly, only take 2 minutes and he shouldnt charge for having a look. Good luck

When will I know if my RR Sport is due for maintenance service ? I've owned it now for 8 months and have driven it for roughly 4k miles?

the service light will only come on at 12500 miles after it was reset last time or due 12 month after its last service check your service record book if you have one the date should be shown there .

I have just over 60000 mile on my 02 Yukon Denali and my "engine service soon" just came on. Should I take it to the gmc dealer or my nearest Union 76 gas station who has mechanics that can work on cars...

service engine soon is a driver/owner reminder, check your engine oil or rest it after changing to 100%, if you have the owners guide book, read it and follow the maintenance procedure to avoid severe damage to your car

Bmw 323 'r' reg e36 engine oil light flashing

your oil pressure switch is a great place to start. since the oil was really thick you could have a horrible oil sludge problem. about 50-100 miles before your next oil change take a bottle of Transmission Fluid and dump in with your oil. and Drive for the remaning 50-100 miles with the Trany fluid still in the oil. The Transmission Fluid is a great Cleaner for sludge.
hope this helped you

Yellow oil light comes on at start up

The above "Guru has no idea what he is talking about. The yellow oil light means you need a new oil level sensor, if your oil is indeed full. Its located in the oil pan and costs around $100. Oh, and oil changed are around 15,000 miles, not 6000 miles. When the BMW is due for an oil change or inspection, the display says so. The yellow light is low oil. Please avoid giving advice when you don't know what you're talking about.
