99 honda accord, manual, 5 speed. vehicle won't

99 honda accord, manual, 5 speed. vehicle won't start. power on, starter firing, sounds like no gas to engine. clutch depressed, correct key used. 2nd time it's happened in rain over 4 months. owner's manual stops at checking fuel pump fuses, which seem fine. Time to call the tow truck?

it could be, but I'm fairly certain that I had that replaced this summer due to some stalling & low pump pressure... time to call my mechanic

1998 Honda Accord Won't Start

Park neutral safety switch maybe be the reason for the no crank ! Try putting the vehicle in park ,then try to crank the engine . Testing the electrical circuit is the best way to trouble shoot this problem , along with do a voltage drop test on the starter circuit ! This will test the battery cables an connections .
Starter Voltage Drop
How to voltage drop test starter motor circuit
Does it have a manual or automatic transmission ? Manual ? clutch switch . Looking at a wiring diagram I also see a starter cut relay !
http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html Free wiring diagrams . Enter vehicle info. year , make , model and engine size . Under system click engine , under subsystem click starting . Then click the search button , then click the blue link ! Check the starter cut relay also . Videos on youtube showing how to test a relay controlled circuit !

With manual vehicles you should check your sensors near the clutch. I had spark and gas and would not get a click. There are two sensors under the dash that when you push the clutch in, it allows a deactivation . Which allows the starter to engage. Both sensors have a push rod end to them where you can push in and out. There are two grommets that are made of plastic that tend to wear down that press against the rod pushing them in. Once they break off...there is nothing to activate the sensor..hope this helps. Thanks Ram210

i have two things that come to mind first of which is your neutral safety switch ...its located on the clutch pedal ..its to prevent the car from being started in gear it may not be working correctly and wont let power to the started when you turn the key...most likely the problem...the other thing if thats not it you may need to check the ignition switch...

1988 5 speed Honda Accord

Ensure your spark plugs, wires (ignition coil and spark) and your filters (air and fuel) are within 2 years of installation It's erratic at 800 rpm as the engine is cold and they like the 2200 range for 3 minutes before they kick down on their own. Press the pedal twice before inserting your key. The owners manual states depending on the outside temperature, the engine will require more priming. Update if possible.
