The tumbler is usualy held in place by a clip made of spring steel. Pulling it downward from the back side of the tumbler will release the lock from the trunk lid.

How do I replace left rear turn signal on dodge intrepid?

Open trunk, pull carpet back (may have to undo some fasteners). The tail light assembly should be visible. Unscrew the plastic fasteners to the tail light. The whole tail light assembly should now be able to be removed from the outside of the car. You will see the individual bulb sockets where the wires lead to the bulbs. Twist to remove. Take the burned out bulb to the car parts store. Reverse these steps to reassemble.

My trunk button is broken and i can;t get my things out the trunk

What do you mean by "my trunk button"? Are you referring to your key-less remote? Or the yellow button in the glove box? First check to make sure that you have not accidentally set the valet switch to LOCK. That will disable the remote & the yellow button from working. Info on how to do that is in your owners manual.
FYI, there was a technical service bulletin on your key-less remote. Buick redesigned it [they had problems with the trunk opening accidentally] If you need a new key-less remote, the new part number is P/N 25678792.
If the solenoid for the power trunk lock has failed, the remote will not work. Assuming you can not open the trunk using the trunk key, there is one last method to get into the trunk. You must remove the rear seat assembly. Then remove any plastic or paper covering which may separate the trunk from the rear seating area. Using a good flashlight, a 3/8" drive ratchet, several extensions [totaling 3 feet in length} and the proper flex socket [most likely 8mm, 10mm or 13mm] you can remove the three bolts which hold the latch mechanism from the inside of the trunk lid. The trunk lid will then open. At this point, you can get your stuff and fix the problem with the power trunk mechanism.

Were can I get my trunk fixed, it won't latch? 96

Any repair shop (body shop or auto repair shop) should be able to handle trunk repair. You may want to look through your local yellow pages. Have you tried spraying a lubricant into the latch assembly, sometimes it help to lube it and use a screw driver to flip latch/lock to locked position and then release with key or trunk release button several times. Rust is prone to jam locks and latches. Most local auto parts stores carry these latches in stock, and it is relatively easy to change out. Let me know if you need further help.

Tail lights do not work on a 2000 lexus rx 300 bulbs are fine, all other lights work fine

You may have a fried fuse. Look in your owners manual to find out which fuse it is in the fuse box diagram. If that is the problem make sure to use the same amperage fuse to replace the burned one with. I fried fuse is usually a sign that you have a short somewhere. But they can also fry for other reasons such as excess moisture somewhere. Sometimes they just burn from age and fatigue. It may solve it to just replace the fuse, but if there really is a short, the new fuse will fry too.

Need an instruction how to replace a tail light cover. thanks.

i will tell you how to replace it

  1. Set the Sonata's headlamp switch to "OFF," engage the emergency break and remove the keys from the ignition.
  2. Use the trunk release latch to open the trunk, and then step out of the car.
  3. Find the taillight assembly cover in the back of the trunk. Twist the knob counterclockwise to open it and reveal the inside of the assembly and bulb sockets.
  4. Locate the bulb socket holding the broken bulb. Turn it counterclockwise to detach it from the taillight assembly.
  5. Pull the old bulb straight out of the socket and replace it with the new bulb. Toss the old bulb into the garbage so it doesn't become a hazard.
  6. Push the bulb socket into the taillight assembly and turn it clockwise to secure it.
  7. Test the new signal light to make sure it works before closing the assembly cover and shutting the trunk.
hope that it will be help full

The trunk won't open w/ remote or elct. sw. only

Hello. Chances are that the Unlocking mechanism in the trunk is either out of alignment or broken. Take a close look at it. It is where the trunk lid actually latches and locks. See if it is loose, or bent, or broken.

How do I access the rear tail lite assembly so I can change the turn signal bulb

Look inside the trunk -- you may have to move the liner aside -- there are three plastic wing nuts holding in each tail light assembly. Remove the nuts and the entire assembly will come out. The light sockets come out with a quarter turn twist.
