This is in regards to a Car audio problem for a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GT with an Infinity sound system. I do not believe that anything has been changed from the manufacturer specs. A while ago my car had a roof leak near the rear passenger window. During a bad storm water came in under the inside door panel and over the rear passenger speaker, pooling under the seat. Unaware, I started the car and my speakers began to hum and pop. Since that day my speakers have not worked. We have fixed the leak and are ready to try to fix the car audio. I don't know much about car audio, so identifying the problem has been difficult. Here's what I have so far. The tweeters over the doors have sound, and do not sound broken as far as I can tell (i.e. no static). The four main speakers in the car make no sounds at all. The speakers themselves look to be in good condition. I could not find any tearing, bending, mold or wear. All of the fuses look good, both in the box next to the steering column, and under the hood. Everything on the dash is in working order, including the CD player and radio. All of the wires that I could see look good. Clean and nothing unusual as far as I could tell. I'll be glad to follow up with any more information needed, and appreciate any tips pointing me in new directions. Thanks!

This is very common to occur when these vehicles have water leaks.
There is an amplifier located underneath the passenger seat which has gotten wet and shorted out.

The amplifier will need to be replaced to restore audio.
