Engine light on and low idle.

I have a 2004 Chevy Corado Z71 Crew Cab. The engine light is on and it has a low idle. I tried to start it one day and it would only turn over like it wasnt getting fuel. I waited about 5 or 10 min and it started right up. I drove to my buddies shop and he reset the the engine light and said it was pulling a code for low idle. He said it was probably the computer that controls the accelorator. I need to know the exact name of the part so I can fix it myself . Thanks

    Mine stumbled around 400-500 rpm and my fuel regulator was bad.

Have him give u code again-computer is brain -and sensors are usually the problem-low idle code can be throttle body or injectors-fuel rail needs service to adjustments or a bad sensor code gives place to start

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. CHANGED SWITCH AND THE SAME THING. I START THE TRUCK AND IS IN 4 HI. THEN HIT AUTO AND THEN 2WD THEN IT SHUTS OFF. AND SERVICE LIGHT COMES ON. STAYS IN 2WD. The stepping motors in the gauges go bad. do a search on ebay for CHEVY SILVERADO INSTRUMENT CLUSTER for cheaper repair options. The dealer charges around $300.00. It will continue to worsen.
