The wipers are parking in the middle because the timing mechanism is off. Once they start doing this it seems to continue to happen so the 1st suggestion is to replace the wiper motor. If U don't want to spend the $ right now it's a pretty easy fix to reset the timing. Park the wipers & remove the wiper arms. Then remove the plastic cowling that covers the wiper motor & the motor assembly. Turn the wiper assembly over without turning the motor. Remove the nut on the arm of the motor. Repostion the arm pointing away from the closet wiper directly inline with the short arm. reassemble.

Just grab wiper arm and hold it for a second or two while you turn on wipers. try this a few times to realign wiper arm timing. the shaft of the motor has a nut that often gets loose. just open cowl under the hood and tighten the nut

SOURCE: Windsheild wiper park position in Saturn 2000 LS1

I had the same problem in my LW200. As the other poster indicated a new wiper motor will do the trick. This is an easy fix. Remove the wiper arms, pry up the plastic center cap and remove the nuts holding the arms down then pull them off. A soft prying nudge from underneath will help as they are splined shafts. Raise the hood, put a large deep well socket on over the splined shafts and remove the 2 large nuts holding the trim panel on. Pull up and off the long rubber which runs along the front of the trim panel, watch there is a sharp edge underneath. Now you can gently pull off the trim panel, remembering to lift it over the splined shafts. Mechanism is right there, remove 3 screws and unplug wiring. Take wiper motor off the linkage swap with a new one at advance auto, about 100 bucks, reinstall in reverse order. Note there is a stamping on the linkage telling you where the pivot arm should be for the rest or stopped position and if you ignore that your wipers will be out of whack. While you are in there you may want to change the cabin air filter as well.

2004 Chevy Aveo LS. What to do if my wipers on my car are not WORKING properly?

Hi roberto ismael luna, I want to help you with your question, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box?
what country,? (the vary by....this)
those parts swaps are they OEM new or used.?
that failure is called auto park.
traditionally that is only function of the
whole wiper assembly (not motor neat) as the assembly casing has switches, to do that.
it is a safety issues. to the wipers do not stick and block your view down the road.
sure the list of possibles.
1: control arm ,mostly no. (wiper)
2: wiper, whole assembly , not just motor.
3; fuses
4: relays
5: bad wiring.
6: controllers, BCM etc?

I say #2 is bad and exactly this part black at blue arrow, CAM box
the motor is not bad ,the switch cam, does AUTO PARK.
use only NEW parts. not pulls or salvage , or Pro grade Refurbs

Windshield wipers park in the middle of the windshield when turned off. How do I correct this?

This is simple (none of the answers above were correct for me), but there was NO DOCUMENTATION to fix this. I couldn't find it anywhere on the NET either. You shouldn't need to replace anything. Your "eccentric" arm, that is directly connected to the motor, was reinstalled 90 degrees off. You need to unbolt the arm from the motor and rotate it 90 degrees to the proper position and reassemble. How?? Take off the motor/linkage cover and watch the linkage operate while someone turns the wipers on and off. Take note of the eccentric arm (bolted to the motor) when the wipers are at the bottom (where they SHOULD park). Then turn off the wipers and take note of the eccentric arm again. (with the wipers parked in the middle). Now you know where the arm IS and how you need to change it when you bolt it back on. Take out the assembly, loosen the bolt, and adjust to the proper angle and reassemble. This fixed mine the first time. (2004 Toyota Avalon).

I have one wiper that does not work the other stops in the middle of the windshield how can i fix them

The motor could be bad, but it's likely that the ball joint connections under the hood area under the cowl have become disconnected for the one windshield wiper arm.

The connection of the arm that moves should be checked for being at the correct angle for parking.
