The CRV most likely has either a Nippon-Denso or Hitachi starter and an integrated solenoid that does the same function as a relay...it contains hi amp contactors that run the starter motor....low battery voltage will ruin a starter quicker than hi voltage will.....To test the starter on the vehicle, disconnect the ignition switch signal wire, 14ga. Black with White Strip from starter terminal and touch a 12ga. Jumper wire from the small terminal to the large top terminal on the starter, making sure the key is off and trans is in neutral or park....Avoid arcing the threads on the stud by touching the jumper to the nut securing the positive battery cable to the starter.....It should engage the drive and spin the engine if the starter is good.....Always disconnect the negative battery cable if you have to remove the starter......
The starter motor solenoid is worn out .possible the starter motor brushes could be worn out also...engine hot. This will be apparent. Replace starter motor and have the flywheel ring gear inspect for worn or missing teeth. Replace with new ...prefer not rebuilt starter motor.
cranks, but now start ( a classic hard fail, which are easy.)
the starter can spin and the crankshaft not.
ill pretend the crank shaft turns near 300 rpm but the engine dont start and run.
so, check all fuses. EFI is electric, so....
ive posted 100s of no starts now... and is same answer on all Otto cycle gas engine.
so ill just do the video again.
ever tune the car up, in last 60k miles, or this decade? skip ad.
if your battery isnt dead (try boosting it) then check to make sure the car is in park all the way and try again if nothing happens you need a new starter. alot of people dont put the shifter all the way back to park and that keeps it from starting.
Take the starter off for testing. If the lights were normally bright, and went dim when key was in cranking position, it means the start circuit is working-battery power is going to the starter, but it won't do anything. The starter motor is probably bad.
Good luck.
If heater fuse in fusebox is good, try this,Key on engine off turn heater switches on high, tap on bottom of heater motor under passenger side of dash above right foot area. If fan runs replace motor.
