Measure for the ignition voltage at the fuse panel. If you get this voltage right away, and the lights "pop on" later, then most likely a relay in the fuse panel. If the voltage appears at the same time as the lights, then it looks more like the ignition switch itself.

I have a 89 ford f150. put the key in, turn the key,, dash lights come on, but it will not turn over and start. I replaced the ignition switch but that wasnt it. any suggestions

Your battery may have a dead cell. It will still have 12+ volts and will run your dash lights and buzzer, but when a real load is requested, it doesn't have it to offer. The problem is quite common. The only way to know is to use a battery tester.

I need directions to remove the dash mounted ignition lock cylinder so i can replace it first time doing dash monted ignition lock and does it have to be programed

THE HAYNES REPAIR MANUAL IS WHAT YOU NEED.IT WILL SHOW AND TELL YOU HOW TO REMOVE THE IGNITION LOCK CYLINDER.YOU NEED A SCANNER TO REPROGRAM ANTI THEFT SYSTEM SO IT CAN RECOGNIZE THE KEY.YOU CAN TRY THIS.THIS IS A SECOND OPTION IF YOU DONT HAVE SCANNER.PUT KEY IN IGNITION.TURN TO RUN POSITION FOR 10 MINUTES.WITH ENGINE OFF.YOU WILL WATCHING THE SECURITY LIGHT ON DASH.IT SHOULD TURN OFF IN TEN MINUTES.IF IT DOES TURN OFF.THEN YOU TURN OFF IGNITION FOR 5 SECONDS.AND TRY STARTING CAR.IF YOU TRY THIS PROCEDURE TWICE AND CAR DONT CRANK.THE DEALERSHIP HAS TO REPROGRAM IT FOR YOU.

Car will not start-battery is fine

Try this Put your key in turn it on dont start wait 10 mins remove key wait 10 seconds repeat this a total of 3 times. Your theft light should go out. As long as the light is on your fuel system is disabled. If that dont work try a different key do the same thing. If that dont work a dealer needs to probably replace and reprogram your ignition switch and keys

Dash lights are not working 1999 Mercedes-Benz CLK

most probable cause could be a faulty ignition switch. Does the lights on the dash come on when you turn the key to the on position ? Do they turn off when you turn the car to the start and are about to crank the engine ? If that does not happen you will have to replace the Ignition switch. They don't have a fuse for the dash lights.

Well, you can sometime catch the code again. Pt the key in the ignition and turn till the dash light come on (dont Start) then press and the Lock button while keeping the Lock button Pressed and turn the dash light off and put the key with the lock button Press for 10 second afterwards. If not successful first time try again. This should do it.
