SOURCE: add transmission fluid

On 91 vehicles there's a 17mm allen screw on the side towards the left front wheel. Open it add the oil there on a level surface and fill till oil reaches the hole and starts coming out. DO NOT FILL OIL FROM THE TOP where what seems to be a plug. It's actually the timing marks and houses the clutch. Put oil there and you'll need a new clutch.

SOURCE: check automatic transmission fluid level

Dipstick is to the left of the engine. Should be a small yellow dipstick. Add fluid through the dipstick hole. The vehicle should be running when you do this. It is best to have driven at least 20 miles before adding trans fluid so everything has had time to get hot.

SOURCE: Add transmission fluid

Hello dawn_hadley4,

Thank you for choosing fixya.com. Chances are, you have purchased a new model of which there is no dipstick for checking the tranny fluid. I know that an earlier model of the Isuzu Trooper had the same thing and drove me crazy looking for the silly dipstick only to find out there isn't one. The situation is this. Supposedly, one does not need to change the fluid for several (over 3,000) miles before having the fluid changed. However, though it may appear that there is no way to change the fluid, there is infact a place to do so, however - it's tricky - you see, if you look at the top of your transmission (front wheel drive/AWdrive), there are about 3-4 plugs. Only one of these few plugs is the one for adding fluid, with one exception - the dealership (or experienced mechanic) needs to do it. The other plugs, as I am told are used for hold parts of the transmission in place on the inside, and if taken out, severe and excruciating damage can be done. So, I would suggest contacting the Volvo dealer or service center and finding out more about this. I am no certified mechanic, and can tell you I have never worked on a Volvo, there I recommend taking it to someone who has and can serve a much better purpose them I , or accomplishing this task for you.
I do thank you however, agian, and sincerely, for choosing fixya.com for answers to this questions. It is a frustraing one I know, and my sincere apologize for my inability to help you better.
Good luck, and I hope you'll rate this information and deem it no less than helpful. Thank you, and take care.

Where is fill to add automatic trans fluid to 2008 BMW 650i under the hood?

The automatic transmission fluid fill location on a 2008 BMW 650i can vary depending on the specific model and transmission type, but generally it is located under the hood and accessed through a dipstick tube.

To locate the dipstick tube for the automatic transmission fluid, follow these steps:

1. Open the hood of the vehicle and locate the transmission fluid dipstick. The dipstick handle is usually yellow, red, or black and is labeled with "ATF" or "trans."
2. Remove the dipstick from the tube and wipe it clean with a lint-free cloth or paper towel.
3. Reinsert the dipstick all the way back into the tube and then remove it again. The fluid level on the dipstick should indicate the current level of transmission fluid.
4. If the fluid level is low, you will need to add automatic transmission fluid. To add fluid, remove the dipstick and use a funnel to pour the fluid into the dipstick tube. Be sure to use the correct type of transmission fluid specified in your owner's manual.
5. Check the fluid level again with the dipstick to make sure it is at the correct level. Add more fluid as needed.

Note: It is important to follow the recommended procedure for checking and adding transmission fluid to your BMW 650i to avoid overfilling the system, which can cause damage to the transmission. If you are unsure about the location of the dipstick or how to properly add fluid, consult your owner's manual or a qualified mechanic for assistance.

I have a 2005 equinox and had to replace the radiator. Some Transmission fluid leaked out and I would like to "top off" the fluid. Do I have to remove the battery casing to get acces to the top...

No, you add fluid in the same hole the check stick is located. Remove teh dip stick and put funnel in teh hole and add fluid in the same location. if that is a manual transmission you will ahve to locate teh check hole on the side of the transmission, normally passenger side or rear of teh transmission and add fluid at that location. Since the lines connected to your radiator I assume you have an automatic since manual transmissions normally do not.

Where does the transmission fluid go in a 1991 mercury cougar

If you need to add fluid, just pour it in the tube that the transmission dipstick is in. Be sure to check it when the transmission fluid is fully warmed up and DO NOT overfill.

How do I check the transmission fluid?

In an automatic transmission, the dipstick should be located around back of the engine. You let the engine run to normal operating temp. and you check the fluid level, add as needed. You add through the dipstick tube with a funnel. Hope this helps.

Where do i put transmission fluid

You add fluid through the same pipe that the Dip stick for the transmission is located. Remove the transmission dip stick and insert a funnel in that same pipe and add fluid there. Never add more than about a pint of fluid at a time. Unlike the engine where you typically add a quart at a time when it is at the add mark in the Transmission you will add a pint if it is at the Add mark.

Where do you put the transmission fluid on a 2008 Kia Spectra?

Locate the transmission dipstick. To add transmission fluid, simply remove the dipstick and insert a funnel in tube, then slowly add fluid. Do not overfill, as this will cause the transmission to slip and possibly cause damage.

How do i add transmission fluid to my 1996 camry?

If you have a dipstick under your hood for the tranny fluid, then fill it in there slowly... if not, you'll need to fill it through the filler plug that will be on the side of the transmission just above the halfway point
