2007 Buick 3.5L rendezvous how do you get better access to to the heater hoses to change them? Do I need to remove the dash? There’s literally no room to get to them

To get the alternator out, I had to move that large electical fuse / relay box out of the way,and remove washer bottle and battery. then use a 3/8" drive ratchet to move the tensioner forward to get the belt off. I used a small mirrow to get a view of the back bolts on the alternator and removed them.[ I used meteric # 15 open end & closed end combo wench. Keep turning the back bolts until the alternator become loose.]

If the top hose is hot and the bottom is cold, your definitely not getting circulation. You,ve already done alot of work to this vehicle so you have pretty much answered your own question. About the only thing left is the heater core. Of course, I dont want to be the one to tell you it is definitely the heater core because obviously I am not looking at the vehicle. But If i was a betting man, thats where my money would be.

The Heater Core is usually removed through the lower dash on the passanger side.

Hi there,

Well the heater core is located under the dash on the passenger side, usually cased in a plastic housing.You may have to remove the glove box in order to have access to. And when you get to the point, when you are disconnecting the coolant lines and remove the core you use some clothes to protect the carpet as fluid may drip.
