I don't know if this can help, but here is one for the 04-06 years. Looks like lots of plastic clips to get at.

Testimonial: "Yes I have seen that video but the way the bumper cover attaches look a little different on the 02 model. Thank You for the information though. Still looking for a video with the 02 model."

SOURCE: the serpentine belt broke on my2002 subaru outback

There is a distinct possibilty there is engine damage caused when the belt broke. It is best not to turn the engine at all once this happens. Sometimes you can be lucky and there be no damage. Let's hope that's so in your case. These belts are supposed to be replaced every 100,000km.

2015 outback rear bumper removal

I assume you mean the bumper cover.

There's a set of two-piece plastic clips along the top of the bumper. Pry the center section out then the outer piece can be removed.
There's more clips along the bottom LH and RH sides.

And, there's an M6 bolt in the top of wheel arch end of the cover.
You should then be able to remove the cover.

The bolts to remove the bumper internal are now accessible.

2002 outback 2.5 liter eng. leaks oil behind the plastic cover plate in front of engine benind pulley. would this be a major seal?

It's the front crank seal. You have to take the timing belt out to replace the seal. The seal is mounted in the oil pump, which is bolted to the front of the engine block. Please let me know if you have questions.
