Spark without fuel = just spark. :) Are you getting fuel movement? You could have a bad/clogged fuel filter, bad fuel pump - could be a few things. Check to make sure you're getting fuel.

Cranks but wont start

Whenever your car won't start, it is either fuel, spark, or air. In your case, because it died while driving and won't run very long, I think it's spark. I would guess that your alternator is no longer providing enough voltage to charge the battery, hence your battery acting like it's dead, and your car not wanting to run long when you do get it started. Use a multimeter to check the voltage coming from the alternator when the car is running. It should be 14.5V or so. If it is down around or lower than 13, replace the alternator.

Truck stuttered and died now wont start

yup it can in the distributor you have a white plastic coil .very common for these to just die. you have to pull the distributor to change . when you begin make sure number 1 cylinder is at top dead center . it makes it easie to put everything back together . your rotor will point to the number 1 cylinder on reassmebly then set timing ........ You have turned it over with a spark wire off right to see if it sparkes. do this first !

Why wont my pt cruser start it died will turn over

It sounds like you might have multiple problems. First you need the car with a starring system that will start the car. If your battery goes dead right away, first check your battery, charge it up and test it. Or put a different battery in the car to test it. You also may have a problem with your charging system so check that too. Once the car will crank fast without slowing down you should be able to start the engine. If this is not the case, poor little gas down the throttle body or intake manifold. Now if it starts and dies out you probably have a fuel problem. Check for fuel pressure on your fuel rail first. Then check fuel pump and relays. Now if the car did not start, check for spark. If spark seems to be good checked the timing belt or timing chain. Good luck.

My Madza died while driving down th highway, felt

If you dont have much money, guessing what parts to change gets expensive. First, you need to verify if it has fuel pressure and spark, that will lead you in the direction to start looking for the problem. Pull 1 spark plug wire off and see if it will jump a 1/2" gap, If so, thats good. If no spark, make sure the cam is turning, you may have a broken timing belt.

2002 olds alero wont start not security problem

You will have to see if you have spark and gas first of all. When you first turn the key to "on", you should be able to hear the fuel pump cut in for just a couple of seconds. If it doesn't, check fuses and relays. If they are okay check to see if there is power at the fuel pump. If there is, you need to change the fuel pump.
Get a timing light and hook it to any spark plug wire, and see if you have spark. If you don't, first, i would check the timing belt. If it's okay, try changing the ignition coil pack.
Let me know how you make out when you get that far.

Car turns over great will not start

IT DEFFO SOUNDS LIKE LACK OF FUEL, BUT FOR IT NOT TO RUN AT ALL UNLESS THROTTLE IS FULLY OPEN DOESN'T SOUND LIKE AN INJECTOR, MORE LIKE NO FUEL AT ALL, LIKE THE PUMP IS KNACKERED. PULL OUT AN INJECTOR, PUT IT IN A GLASS JAR, THEN TRY AND START IT, IT SHOULD GIVE A BIG POWERFUL SQUIRT OF FUEL, TRY ALL THE INJECTORS ONE AT A TIME, BECAUSE ITS QUITE RARE FOR ALL THE INJECTORS TO GO AT TE SAME TIME
