I am not familiar with this model but petrol engines usually use a signal from the ignition system for the rev counter and diesels need a special sensor. However the rev counter is almost certainly unsuitable because petrol engines tend to rev much higher than diesels.

Testimonial: "I am familiar with the workings of petrol and diesel rev counters but need to know which wire to use on the original diesel loom to feed the rev counter. I am aware that I need to connect to the negative terminal on the petrol engine coil. The specific petrol engine I used is a low revving engine with high torque similar to that of the diesel."

Have a 4M41 engine in the 2007 mitsubishi triton and when under acceleration between 2000 - 2600 rpm the engine hunts or surges and then clears after 2600 rpm. It is more noticeable in 3/4/5 gears only...

It needs a programming check of the accelerator pedal via ecu of the engine. All previous activity of the system is recorded in the ecu which can be corrected in the dealership of mitsubishi.
