My tire pressure light came on this am for about 30 mins then went off. I've had this problem before and they said the tires were overinflated. When getting the oil changed, sometimes they suggest the tires need to be replaced; other times they don't. Is the sensor too sensitive or is there really an issue

Check your tire pressure and check the tread dept with a penny if you see lincolns head pretty well replace the tire and its best to replace 2 or 4 at a time.Especially with tps sensors. If there looks to be cracks on the tire then thats dry rot and should be replaced. If you have run flats then it have been over inflated. If you need a suggestion on tires try Falkens a little cheaper but good tires. If you got a little bit more money and want a really good tire try Bridgestone turanzas. I have them and havent met a pothole thats taken it yet

How do you turn off tpms light on a 2015 Toyota venza

Check the drivers door opening for the sticker that shows tire pressure then check all the tires, if they're OK overinflate them by 5 lbs most tires list a maximum inflation pressure stay below that then drive the car around the block and put the pressure back to the specification. I hope this helps. Take care.

Tire pressure says sensor fault it's a 2009 Mercury mariner do I need to replace or can it be reset

The "tire pressure sensor fault" message is an indication that there is a problem with the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). A tire pressure monitoring system is required for all motor vehicles manufactured after 2007. The pressurized air inside the tire is monitored by the TPMS. The TPMS consists of tire pressure sensors which are placed inside each wheel. These sensors provide the driver with information regarding the actual tire pressure of each tire in real time.
All car tires are tubeless, unlike bike tires that have an inner tube that when filled with air inflates the rubber tire. Tubeless car tires have an inner core that is filled with pressurized air. The tire should be filled based on the manufacturer's specified PSI. This can usually be found on a sticker on the driver's side door or trunk. If the tire is overinflated or underinflated, this could cause damage to the tire and/or hazardous driving conditions.
Problems that are possible when a tire is overinflated:
  • Shorter lifespan of the tire
  • Broken tire belt
  • Uneven wear on the tread
  • Bad traction-specifically in the rain and snow
  • Difficult to steer and/or maneuver (it may feel as if you are driving on ice)
  • Decreased friction
  • Driver may experience a harsh ride
  • Could cause damage to the suspension
  • Tire may blowout/explode
Problems that are possible when a tire is underinflated:
  • Shorter lifespan of the tire
  • Make cause the tread to separate
  • Premature wear on the tread
  • Decreased fuel economy
  • Difficult to steer and/or maneuver (it may feel harder to turn with precision)
  • Increased friction
  • Tire may blowout/explode

Yellow horseshoe shape with explanation flashing on my dash of Nissan Titan

That signal is from your tire monitoring sensors, telling you that there is air pressure difference between tires. The tire pressure should be same in all tires.

2000chevy tahotires chirp upon take off

Not a bad sign for your drivetrain...sounds solid without any play...Be sure you are inflating all tires to the Tahoe's specs...these tire sizes and air pressures are usually found on the frame around your drivers door...Your owners manual may help too. Many tire stores list the recommended air pressures in their computer system info for most cars and trucks. However, sometimes there system is incorrect. Many owners will inadvertantly overinflate there tires due to the spongy sidewall of the radial tire. Overinflation will also lead to tire noises at take off, and cornering, and stopping. When you decide to look at tire replacements...remember that all tires are NOT the same:) Reading the reviews on-line by other consumers is usually helpful. Hope this helps.

The low tire light comes on on the dash. I checked my tire pressures and they are fine. I can reset the light but about 2 or 3 minutes into driving it comes back on and tires are fine. What else can cause...

Tire light should blink 3 times to ensure reset. Overinflation will set it off. Those tires should be at 32psi. Don't forget the spare if it's a full size, it has a sensor too.

The check tire pressure light is on. I check the

Check that all your tires are inflated to the specification recommended by the vehicle manufacturer or higher. There is no TPMS warning for "overinflated" tires, because there is far less danger per NHTSA studies than "underinflated" tires.

You can safely inflate your tires to the max pressure rating on the sidewall. The pressure listed by your vehicle manufacturer is a compromise between noise, tire life, and ride comfort.

Try installing more air, up to 35 PSI, and see if the light goes out. If it does not, you may have a faulty TPMS sensor, which is inside the tire, attached to the tire valve. This will require a qualified service technician to further diagnose and repair.
