-You mean transmission fluid...?
-Check it again and fill it to full level. You should be good to go.
-When you check it. Make sure check while the engine is still running and part on a level ground surface.
In the same hole the dipstick for the transmission is in. Small funnel works the best to minimize spillage. Also make sure you check the level of the transmission while the vehicle is in park and running and engine hot. Avoid over filling by adding small amounts at a time and re checking.
Automatic transmition fluid is added through the dip[stick tube. You should use a funnel that is long with a small opening. Auto Parts stores carry funnels just for this purpose. Add small amounts and check the level frequently when adding fluid. the difference between low and full is usually about 1/2 of a quart. If you over fill an automatic its a pain to get the excess fluid out. Check the fluid regularly for a while and add as needed or take it to a mechanic and have them do it.
Automatic transmission fluid is added at the dipstick tube. Remove dipstick from tube, wipe and reinsert while engine hot and running at idle, park or nutral ok. Add 1/4 quart at a time in same tube untill fluid level is at full mark. Do not mistake engine oil dip stick for transmission stick.
start by adding four quarts, then start engine and put thru gears and then back to park and recheck and add as needed, just keep repeating process untill full, make sure you look on dip stick ,it will tell you what kind of transmission fluid to use.
I cant get the key out or lock steering column and the automatic transmission shift lever locks up in park. Now if I take the battery off every thing works fine. This sure seems like a reset problem.I run the car by not having it in the locked column position and get the shifter to work by putting a key in the hole furnished by chevy to bypass shift lock. thank you
