You would need an auto electrician or a transmission expert to connect a pro grade scan tool computer and diagnose if the switch or solenoid is faulty. A scan tool at this level is bi-directional and can command solenoids to operate and confirm that they do.

philkgoodman: I have the same exact problem with my 2006 ram 3500. I bought it used and its been like this since i bought it so im not sure if its normal. My guess is the cabin filter is getting clogged. I heard from someone that dodge doesnt have a cabin filter in their trucks. I don't have a owners maual either but I beleive its 10 liters.Use 15w40 ams oil with ams oil filter.7500-10000 miles for filter changes and 20000 miles between oil changes

I don't think they do, but you can check it will be mounted in the blower box behind the glove box if it has one.
