I took my BMW 3-series into the dealer for a scheduled service. A few days after the service, I noticed the light came on for the windshield washer fluid. Since it was still able to dispense washer fluid, I figured it must just be low. This warning light had never come on before so I checked the bill from the service and realized I had been charged for refilling the washer fluid. Why would the light come on when they had just refilled it and it was still working?
A few weeks later, I had to take the car back to have the rearview mirror replaced. I asked them to check the washer fluid level. At the end of the service, I was told the pump in the washer fluid no longer worked and it would cost me over $100 to have it replaced! I'm not very pleased with the service department at my local BMW dealer right now and don't really want to take it back to them to "fix" the problem. Is this something a very inexperienced person can replace?
SOURCE: do you have to remove the small metal plate off of
Yes. Mark where you want it to go, make sure the windshield is clean, and place the metal backing on the windshield. I usually let it sit for at least 24hrs before I rehang the mirror.
