Last weekend I inadvertently left my lights on and ran the battery down. I was successful in getting it jump started but now I get a "CD CHANGER ERROR" on the radio display. Any ideas on the fix?

The cd is part of the in-dash radio installation.

The same thing happened with my changer only it froze up while driving in the middle of a road trip - it seemed like a stuck CD but it was empty. Eventually, I think this wore my battery down because it kept trying to fix itself and I could not even jump start it. Even when I turned it off it still kept going. Are you sure it was lights? Maybe the CD changer started it. We were in an out-of-town situation where we had to buy a brand new battery, as soon as it was installed the cd player was fixed.

Hi, the first thing to try is remove all the disks out of the changer then try switching it back on.
if this dont work then could you tell me is your changer seperate from the stereo ie under the seat or in the boot then i can assist you further ok

Hi, is their a cd in the changer or can you put one in the changer.
Is it frozen completly and you cant do nothing with it.
What sounds like happend is the cd changer got screwed up as the battery was going flat but not completely flat what you should try to di is disconect the battery for a few minutes but make sure stereo is turned off whilst you do this, then when you reconect the battery switch the ignition on the switch the stereo on dont press anything else at this moment give the stereo chance to reset itself.
After a couple of minutes try using the stereo then let me know what happens ok then ill assist you further.

Because the batter never went flat enough to reset the stereo it sort of get messed up as the power goes below a certain level then comes back up again not giving the stereo time to reset itself so give this a try then get back to me ok

97 sonoma only runs on starter fluid

if it ran fine before this happened then check the fuel pump relay first. it may have shorted out when jumped off, or when battery was replaced

My 2005 Amanti was driving fine today. Tonight, my husband put gas in it and now it won't start. The lights are flickering on and off, the cd changer lights are blinking and the display on the screen?...

I do not see what the fuel had to do with this, unless the car was cranked for so long that the battery went down. sometimes you pump diesel and car will run about 1/2 block....

Your description sounds like an electrical based issue. Look for grounds, good connections at the battery....get the battery tested, then go on from there. Sometimes batteries fail quickly, but usually will start with a jump....your car sounds like it is not getting electrical power... (Electrically challenged...)

Just put a new battery in last weekend. Now it

several factors could be this item, terminals and cables dirty, clean thoroughly with water and baking soda, rinse and let dry, Alternator not charging the battery (take it out and have it tested, if you have not done so) Faulty starter or solenoid, take out and have checked . I did all of the above and the next item was what i needed to fix my vehicle, faulty ignition switch (52.00 part) this takes about 2-3 hours to change out. Good luck!

Electrical Issue that started with the CD Changer '05 Equinox

i would say thats your problem sounds like the changer mecanism is sticking and staying engaged causing the battery to run down
