Winding noise from front area of my 2002 nissan maxima

After lifting my 2002 nissan maxima and not noticing the distinct winding noise, my mechanic suggested that it may be the engine motor mounts since it looks to be cracking and hardening. Special ordered the parts (set of 4) and installed it but the noise is still present though he says it's lessened. Now he saying that it's the transmission. ( Just bought new tires) Any ideas?

Knocking noise in engine of 2002 Nissan maxima

This is hard to say with hearing the noise but try to pin point the noise , is it coming from the top or bottom of the motor , the knocking noise could be a bearing in the lower motor or may be something else making it sound like a bearing,

2003 Nissan Maxima Timing Chain

You can wait its just fine, However if you ever start to notice oil leaking from front cover, then you will need to change. If there is no loss in power feel sluggish especially on take off, Its almost impossible for these type of chains to break. So enjoy until the wheel fall off..lol. good luck
