SOURCE: 87 samurai bolt torque specs for engine

The haynes book is not recommended since there are numerous mistakes and they still will not update. One of the biggest is the firing order.

The factory service manual is the only way to go.

Head bolts - 46 - 50.5 lbs (there is an order sequence for the bolts)

Intake & exhuast manifolds- 13.5 - 20 lbs

Flywheel - 41.5 - 47 lbs

Clutch cover - 13.5 - 20 lbs

SOURCE: Head bolt torque specs needed for 96 tbird 3.8

Head bolts are torque to yeild so you MUST use new bolts.
Tighten cylinder head retaining bolts in numerical sequence in three steps as follows:

  1. 20 Nm (15 lb-ft).
  1. 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
  1. 50 Nm (37 lb-ft)
Loosen retaining bolts one at a time two to three revolutions and retighten as follows:

Long bolts:
  • Tighten to 40-50 Nm (30-37 lb-ft).
  • Rotate an additional 175-185 degrees.
  • Go to next bolt in sequence.
Short Bolts:
  • Tighten to 20-30 Nm (15-22 lb-ft).
  • Rotate an additional 175-185 degrees.
  • Go to next bolt in sequence.

What year manual transmission fits to a 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX?

Pretty much any "EJ" transmission will fit any "EJ" engine, the only problems are whether the clutch is a pull or push type release bearing? That will also make a difference how the clutch slave cylinder mounts up. If it isn't a turbo model trans, it will not take the HP that the engine puts out for very long. The Impreza STI manual trans will bolt up, but there will be some exhaust fitment issues where the down pipe bracket connects to the trans.

Striped the nut on the rear strut just need to know the specs so i can get a new one dealership wont help

Hello,

Subaru always states in their service manuals to replace all self locking nuts with new hardware, never reuse old nuts.

Tightening torque for the 3 nuts that fasten the strut to the body: 20 N-m (14.5 ft-lb)

The main strut rod nut torque spec is: 55 N-m (40.6 ft lbs)

My 06 Subaru Impreza WRX is giving me a P0021 code check engine light. I want to change the variable valve timing sensor and the timing belts. Where can I find the information on how to do this?

I stand behind All-data its a program that will give you a break down on everything, it also gives you torque specs with sequences technical service bulletins, and safety recalls there's nothing you cant do with this at the helm. Go to Alldata.com I think its 14.95 for the year but the skys the limit good luck

What are the clyinder head bolts torque wrench settings for a 1994 subaru impreza wrx

Impreza torque settings MUST be done in the correct sequence, its critical when re building.
If you have a local garage who are friendly with, ask if they have autodata. If so they can print you a torque sequence and settings.

Torque specs for truck bed mounts

Torque specs are not important in this application, apply some thread locking compound and tighten the bolts.

45-60 ft lbs is about right for the size bolts that are used on that box.
