06 Hyundai Sonota Gas smell coming in through the vents when you hit a certain speed. The smell is never there until i hit 55mph. You can not smell it when the car is off. And as long as you drive above or below 55 its never there. No traces of gas on ground or around any of the fuel lines. And the gauge never seems to be lower than its suppose to be. Why would I only smell gas at a certain speed?

Loosening the fuel cap made the smell worse. The fuel pump seems fine. It does not make any loud or unusual noises and the car does not act like it is having trouble getting gas. The spark plugs are all dry. And the car does not sound or act like any of the spark plugs are dead or dying.

SOURCE: SMELLS GAS BURNS GAS

P0440-This Relates to System for Evaporative Emission. You will need to check the purge cannister that is in the engine bay and connects as a vent to fuel system and fuel tank.Loosen the fuel cap and roadtest, should change the faults or eliminate.Get back to me with your findings and we can work towards a solution.I hope that this helps.

SOURCE: 94 grand am Head Gasket?

Check ur spark plugs for wetness, if u have water in ur cylinders, you have a gasket problem. 94-95 grand am had a problem with intake gaskets, but my grand am also had a manufacture error on the head gasket too. The dragged the heads over it putting the heads back on and smashed the rings..

My Hyundai xg350l 3.5 litre v6 mfi keeps coming up with mil code p0401. I replaced the egr, several vaccum hoses light went out for 165 miles then came back on. it is hard to put fuel in gas tank,

Check for corrosion/broken wires at the vent valve at the rear. Also,if the fuel tank is filled "to the top" is there any gas smell?Yes means a vacuum leak is possible.
If the car is filled to the top,the vehicle will not do a fuel system evap test until fuel level is below 3/4 and you will not see any fuel evap codes like PO401 until then.

Smell of gas and whistling sound

Its all connected.
The computer uses a solenoid to vent the fumes from the tank when the engine is running.
The vapor canister holds the fumes until the vent valve is opened.
The computer tried to vent the tank and something went wrong.
It could be from the excessive heat or something with the venting system.
A mechanic would test the venting system.
