SOURCE: replacing door handle on nissan pickup

Lift up the handle, you will see the bolts there, You will also have to pry off inside door panel (after removing any screws) than you will have access to the nuts. That's all there is to it.

1997 Nissan pickup AC switch lights up & sounds like the compressor is coming on, belt is on AC, but no air blowing out--is this a bad blower motor and where is this located?

a defective blower motor usually caused this problem,or a defective reistor block assy located near the blower underneath the globe compartment

How do i tighten alternator belt, it doesnt have adjusters like the rest of the belts

I believe this model has a automatic belt tensioner. It appears to be an idler pulley with a 5/8 or so size bolt in the middle. If you put a socket and ratchet on it and rotate it, the serpentine will release. If the belt is stretched and it can't be tightened, you may need a new belt. If not, then you may need a new tensioner. If this solution helped you, please don't forget to rate this high for me, thanks.

How to adjust alternator belt

If it's a v-belt vs. a serpentine belt, then look for a pivoting pulley accessory or idler pulley that can be loosened and tightened as far as the belt is concerned.

Many modern vehicles use a serpentine belt that has a tensioner that has a spring that tightens the belt automatically to the right tension and is released using a 1/2" breaker bar or equivalent.

Good luck on this repair.

My alternator belt is as tight as it can go and is still squealing, but it is a new belt recently. What can I do? I wonder if I was sold the wrong belt originally, so that it is slightly too big to tighten...

Since your post just says 97 Nissan Pickup I cannot be specific. But, generally:
  • if the belt adjuster/tensioner is at the end of it's adjustment then you need a shorter belt.
  • Make sure there are no foreign materials on the pulleys or new belt
  • If it's an automatic belt tensioner it might have to be replaced
