SOURCE: humming noise from driver rear wheel on 09 camry

Check wheel bearings. Properly jack up the car one side at a time with blocks set in front of and behind the front wheels with the car in Park. Do not set the parking brake as this will prevent the rear wheels from being spun while off the ground. Safety consideration--- Do not get any body parts between the wheel and finder or under the car in case it slips off the jack---- After one rear wheel is slightly off the ground begin to spin it and listen for rough / dry/ popping noises or break pad drag. See if the noise gets louder when you spin it faster or one direction versus the other. Check for loose bearing by trying to wiggle the tire side to side and top to bottom. Pay attention to tire wear. If you find nothing in the wheel itself, the tire might be the problem if the tread is worn oddly. You can change that tire's position with another wheel and see if the noise changes to the tire's new location. Repeat by checking the other side.

Loud humming noise coming from the rear/tires? of 07 pt cruiser?

Rub your hand over the tread and try and feel for cupping or uneven tread patterns. This will create alot of road noise. If not, have your wheel bearings checked.

2007 hyundai accent humming front end tire

Same with my 07 Accent. bought new in 07, noise started last spring 2013 at 63,000 miles, a year later at 97,000 getting louder but still rolling along, high speeds and pulling a trailer some of the time. Cannot believe a bad bearing would last that long.

JUST GOT TWO NEW FRONT TIRES,(AND BALANCING). NOW THERE IS A CONSTANT NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT END AND GETS LOUNDER AS ITS ACCELERATED. SOUNDS LIKE A RUBBING OR HUMMING NOISE.

Sounds like a wheel bearing or bearings going bad.

Humming or 'howling' noises are indicative of a bad wheel bearing especially on acceleration.

Good luck on this repair.

I have a whistle or humming noise from the front of 05 Montana.

Put wide tape on different areas of the windshield edge as a test to see if the noise changes. Then you may know where the noise originates and can correct the noise.
Just by chance,it is a wind noise? and not a front wheel bearing going bad?which is common on these vehicles and can create a humming at different speeds.Next time when the hum shows up turn the steering wheel slightly left and right at road speed and if you can change the hum,it's 99% a wheel bearing.
