I have a similar problem with my '95 JGC Limited. I found that if I unlock and lock the back hatch with the key the alarm is disarmed.

Bought a 1995 jeep grand cherokee orvis . it has no keeless remote, just keys.installed new battery and the security must be on.all lights inside and out are blinking.on and off. how do i reset security.

Try turning the key..unlock-lock-unlock in the rear tailgate lock. That should turn off the factory security system.
If it's an aftermarket alarm system, you will need an alarm installer's help in determining what type and model alarm it is, before you can figure out how to shut it off.

My jeep alarm wont stop going off even it is a 1995 jeep wrangler

allright, thank you for consulting fixya.com. try to reset your computer in car by disconnecting the positive cable on the battery for 10mins. but make sure your vehicle has not been vandalized 1st. inspect the key switch please. if all good there, look at your radio system, if all good there, reset the sysytem by disconnecting the pos. side terminal on the battery for the 10mins please. when you reconnect the battery, you may need to manually lock the doors with your key. lock the doors for 2mins then unlock the doors with key and then attempt to start the car.this should reset the alarm. hope this helps and thank you for choosing fixya.com

I just bought a 1996 jeep grand cherokee larado, I locked the doo while inside with electric lock switch on door. I then opened the door with the handle. the alarm went off which I did not know it had. I...

lock with key, electric door lock button,or remote and alarm will set. to disarm you have to use the key or remote to open it.the reason it woulnt disarm from drivers door is either the door lock cylinder switch is broken or the wire to it in the rubber boot that connects the door and the body is broken.
the remotes are cheap and programing is easy, procedure in owners manuel something like lock drive door with elkect. lock switch with door open then push and hold unlock untill doors unlock then turn key off.you may have to fix that drive door lock cyl.switch first though mabee not dont know for sure

When i unlock my jeep the alarm goes off and wont stop

the lock cylinder switch on the lock cylinder is bad or the wire that goes to it is broken and if its broken it will be in that rubber boot that goes from the door to the body.you can diarm the alarm by unlocking one of the other doors or tailgate with the key

Jeep alarm will not turn off

The ignition security on/off is located at the trunk lock. unlock and lock rear gate and the alarm will turn off. My jeep sat in my drive for a month before a jeep tech told me this. It still triggers the security sometimes when I unlock the passenger door with the key and I go straight to the rear gate lock and it shuts off instantly.

1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo Alarm system

There are switches on the door lock cylinders that are supposed to shut the alarm off when you use the key,but they go bad allot. you could try unlocking the passenger door first, since that one usually gets less use and is less likely to go bad. Otherwise you can disconnect the alarm module, it is located behind the glove box.
