Where is the camshaft position sensor located on a 2003 mitsubishi eclipse V6?

Camshaft position sensor should in the H location. Hope it helps.

Distributor.

Camshaft position sensor is just a new name for what replaced what use to be the distributor cap and wires. So, that sensor is on the top of the shaft that once was called a distributor.

My wiring diagram for your vehicle doesn't show a camshaft position sensor, neither does my online parts book.
My wiring diagram does show a top dead center sensor besides the crank sensor, and it shows to be in distributor assembly. Whether that is integrated into that assembly or can be serviced separately, I don't know?

Remove air flow duct away from engine enough to look under it.. Cam sensor is located there.. Held on by one 10 mm bolt and clip. should be red wire, green with yellow stripe and a black one if my memory serves me right.. I have same car different year same engine.. The ignition coil and cam sensor are built into the distributor.

on the buttom of oil pan take 1 bolt out and 1 wire off it

would this sensor make the car not start when it is hot?

its near the crankshaft pulley. under the timing cover.
