Question about 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe

2004 chevy tahoe instrument cluster (parking brake & abs lights don't come on at all. There are no codes either. Are there specific fuses associated with these bulbs in the instrument cluster?

When I turn the key on in my 2004 chevy tahoe neither the abs or brake light in the instrument cluster come on at all I tested for error codes. There were none pertaining to this, however there was code p0650 the engine light on and the tire pressure sensors, which I bought new ones to install. Also The fuel gauge intermittently goes to the low fuel line.

I agree with Tim Except, those gauge clusters are not cheap. On a truck that is 15 years old I would recommend going to a junk yard or U pull a part yard and you can get one for about half of what a new one cost. Hope this helps you.

Hello the Chevy and the GMC are bad for the resistors breaking of the dash easy fix, but they are also bad for the pin bulbs burning out. So if you know anyone that can solder this is a cheap fix can get the bulbs on ebay but personally find someone that can do a good job and go with led bulbs they will last longer and better, but with all the issues i see you may want to look into a new cluster

Changed the battery in my 03 tahoe, now none of the guags work

Your best bet have the instrument cluster tested . Hooking it up to a factory scanner is the best first diagnostic step . Checking for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's . Checking cluster data , all gauge info. come's from the BCM or PCM over the class 2 serial data network . Class2 data is a communication network for the control modules . Are their any light's lit on the instrument cluster ? Check engine , ABS , Air bag etc..... GM also had instrument cluster problems from 2003 to 2006 , stepper motor's that drive the gauge needls , silver migration -google that one.

On a 2004 chevy tahoe How do you test to see if the instrument cluster abs and parking brake lights need to be replaced.

They are in a closed loop the ABS and the balance pressure switch. You likely have some kind of problem with ABS system .If one dosn't work it will effect the other light

On a 2004 chevy tahoe instrument cluster, the parking brake light is red. Is that due to the overlay or a red bulb.

Possibly the ABS unit, look in your owners manual for the ABS fuse (it's under the hood) unplug it with the key on, shut off key and replug, if the light go's out drive it, the light will probably come back if it does you need a ABS control unit.

On a 2004 chevy tahoe. Once the instrument cluster wire clip is detached and new bulbs are soldered on the cluster. Does the instrument cluster have to be reprogrammed ?

Shouldn't need reprogramming. I removed the cluster from my 04 Silverado and sent it in for repair and replacement of the bulbs. It was out of my truck for 2 weeks. When I got it back everything worked just fine, no problems at all.

Are there twist out or solder on bulbs on a 2004 chevy tahoe instrument cluster?

Back in 2004, the lamps probably were the bi-pin type mounted in holders that twisted in and out of the rear of the instrument cluster circuit board.

ABS indicator is not on, but there is no "grinding" sound of ABS when braking on icy snow. Any thoughts?

Is the abs light on when you turn the key to run ? If not then the bulb is blown or missing in the instrument cluster. When the key is put into the "run" position that is "light check mode" and every light should come on or at least flash. Hope this helps !

How can you tell if you have ABS on 2004 Kia Sedona?

Turn the ignition key to the "on" position but do not start the engine. Look at the lamps on the instrument cluster, there should be an abs light that shows. You can also open the hood, and follow the brake lines from the master cylinder. If the vehicle has ABS (and it should for that year and model) the lines will route to an ABS controller (which looks like a big metal "block" with a number of brake lines running to it and will probably say ABS on the housing.

Abs light, brake light, engine light stay on but do not flash

Well, that sucks, for sure. The only commonality I can see between the engine, abs, brake light and speedometer is possibly a bad vehicle speed sensor. But when you throw in the codes for lost comm and cluster error, that muddied the water a bit. I am sure that there are separate fuses for the trailer wiring harness (my 04 chevy has separate fuses, surely an 09 dodge does) so I doubt trailer wiring could have done all this. A lost comm could be caused by a blown fuse. I would inspect every single fuse I could find in the entire vehicle, also, I have researched your problem a bit and have found a couple possible fixes. One is that the abs sensor on the rear differential is known to be sketchy and needs to be changed. The other is cleaning any ground cables that are connected to the fuse box on the front left fender. I hope this helps!

2001 ford taurus ABS will not light but brake light on

You have a bad ABS module. Had the same problem with my 2000 Taurus. The ABS module is a Bosch 5.3 You can have yours rebuilt for $170 or go to a junk yard and pull one from a 2000-2003 Taurus. Make sure its a traction control module if you have it on your car!
