1996 grand cherokee-6cyl When making tight turns,

Hi, the likely problem is a worn out CV joint on one of your axles. Check for a torn boot on either axle. Once a toot tears open, dirt gets in and wears out the joint. Please let me know if you have more questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

How do I replace a front wheel bearing assembly on a 2000 jeep grand cherokee?

Remove tire, brake caliper and rotor (before doing this use a solid breaker bar and a long steel pipe to remove center nut on axle) It is tight (about 170lbs) Once everything is off, put the nut on the axle backweards and make it even with end. give it a tap with a hammer to break it free from the bearing splines. There are three 12point bolts on the backside of the steering knuckle. back them out a bit and use a chisel between the bearing and knuckle to get it free. Use lots of wd40 or other solvent. If you need to, hammer a bit on three bolts. But not so much you can't get a wrench on them. as bearing becomes free, remove bolts and finish. Assemble in oposite order (but no hammering) when tightening axle nut use # I gave you and do not loosen to get cotter pin through hole...tighten further.
