What would cause, while I was driving, the service soon light to come on and my digital dash stopped working the heater stopped working, and the signal lights. hardly flashed.

Possible charging system problem causing low voltage. Have the charging system/alternator tested for proper operation..If charging system operating properly, possible ignition switch getting bad. You can gently rock the key back and forth with the vehicle running to see if everything begins working again. If so, the ignition switch needs replacement

I have replaced both circuit boards for rear tail lamps. I have verified that all of the fuses are good. Yet, I still have no taillights or dashboard lights. I do have signal lights, brake lights and...

You only need to change the tail light fuse if it is blown. If you haven't checked it already, do that. Those stop/tail bulbs are 2 filament bulbs. One filament is for brake lights, and other filament is for the tail lights. So it is possible to have brake lights and no tails, if the filaments for the tail lights are burned out. But of course, it is unlikely that all the tail lights would be out and all the brake lights still work.

You may need a voltmeter to help solve the problem. It could be a problem in the headlight switch (a problem with the park light function), but is more likely a problem with the Lighting Control Module- or the Body Control Module-whichever your car is equipped with. GM first came out with the LCM, and a year or two later came out with the BCM. Both are mini-computers to control lighting and cabin functions. You would have to use a voltmeter and check things like power in and power out at the BCM of the park lights. You would thus need a wiring diagram to go along with the voltmeter. Those modules are located up under the dash-you can use google to see pictures of them, and maybe find locations.

2000 alero does not start after sitting in cool temps overnight but works fine when it warms up?

the issue you are having has to do with the ignition switch harness, it is inferior in this vehicle, the best way to I have found to repair these electrical and fuel pump issues , is splice in a ignition switch wiring harness from a 98 - 03 grand am ignition switch harness, I have used Malibu parts also but they seem to be only slightly better than alero, I have done several of these aleros without come backs so there ya go ,

Brake lights work but tail lights won't work with front lights which are needed at night on 2000 Chevy Malibu! When inspected, everything was fine until inspector changed my left tail light. Now tail...

The Tail lights and Instrument lights are usually on the same circuit so both will go out if the fuse for the circuit blows. Check for a blown fuse for this circuit and replace if out. If fuse continues to fail, check the tail light or side globes for a faulty globe and replace if necessary. Also check for any chafed wires that could be shorting to the body causing the fuse to blow.

dash and tail light are on the same fuse, if you lose your dash lights most people will check for the cause due to no speedometer, did you use a wiring kit for your application,

Service vehicle soon lite 2003 chev. malibu 6cyl. 60,000 mi.

Ignition switch is a solid culprit. the contacts get worn out or even "stretched " due to "Forced" turning of the key. You know the part where you try to turn the key past the stop point.
