How to replace cylinder head on 1996 RAV4 - 1996 Toyota RAV4

With a voltmeter check for battery voltage at high beam terminal at the head light, if voltage replace the bulb, no voltage check the following, fuse , dip switch, relay all should have battery voltage.

head gaskey leaking or bad water/coolant jacket in the head or poably warped head from over heating

It is at the engine end of the upper radiator hose. In the picture below it is number 15, below the thermostat cover, number 13 and gasket, number 14. This is a picture of your 1996 Toyota RAV4 cooling system.

just a bad plug wire, change all of them, and some new spark plugs too

if they do and they have not got permission from toyota to reproduce said item,then they are headed for the courts.....you have to buy them in europe.....£18 each...

on 1996 RAV4: master cylinder and resevoir should be located at the driver's side firewall.

Zero tolerance means the valves may have hit the piston when the timing belt broke. I would suggest doing a cylinder leakage test to see if the valves are bent or not. If the valves are not bent then you can replace the belt and everything will be ok. If there are bent valves then the cylinder heads will need to be removed and repaired.

take off the valve cover and you will see the gasket which you want to replace on its edge.
