Here are the steps for a 1991 Accord, but keep in mind you only have three chances to input the code before the radio locks up.
1. Turn the ignition to on, but not the engine.
2. Hold down 1 and 6 and turn on the radio.
3. The readout should display "Code", let go of 1 and 6 at this point.
4. Enter the code.
Check for a sticker with the radio code inside the glove box. Some
dealers fixed a second sticker in the owners manual. If not available,
get the code from a Honda dealer, and be prepared to show VIN number,
and proof of vehicle ownership.
Means that it is requesting the code (anti theft) to reactivate the radio. In all probability, the vehicle battery was disconnected and the anti theft tripped.
the start points for entering the radio code are either when the radio says code or displays an error 1, 2 or such. once you enter the code it should beep once and turn on. It sounds like you are following the procedure though. Is it possible the audio unit was damaged?
Call Honda America - 1-800-999-1009
Give them your VIN number and the Radio Serial Number (Check your glove box for a 10 digit code...it may be affixed to the back part of the glove box wall)
They will verify some information and will give it to you over the phone.
Here you can enter your VIN information and just update some things. There is a link there that will take you to the retrieve your radio code. Once you get it, write it down and/or put it on your 'Ownerlink" which will help you the next time.
Hold down the 1 and 6 buttons on the radio and turn it on. That will cause it to display an 8 digit code. Call this code to the parts department of your local Honda dealer and they should give you the code.(Hopefully) Keith
