SOURCE: antilock brake system in 1992 dodge grand caravan

Recall is a recall, doesnt matter who the owner is. CAll the dealership tell them that you have this year and model and make and they will ask for the VIN and give it to them. If it comes up in the system that it falls under the recall, then have it towed to the shop and tell them that it is a recall repair and make sure it is noted on the paper work

SOURCE: 97 Dodge Caravan Auto-Shutdown Problem

Been working on my dad's 97 Caravan longer then i can remember for things you mentioned and have been not able to get him to sell it.
I found that the electrical connections are prone to corrosion and have replaced lots of the wire and pin connection in the wire harness, thank god i have time on my hands.
The instrument panel where the wire harness connects, i found that the solder goes bad and i had to re solder the connector on the back side of the circuit board, where the harness goes so you need to remove the instrument panel from the dash,
Here is a link that can help you retrieve DTC codes and do research on your caravan. I'ld tell you everything what i needed to do to keep my dad's caravan running but that would be a novel. http://www.allpar.com/fix/stall.html

Good luck and keep me posted, glad to help you keep yours running too.

SOURCE: 2006 Dodge Gr. Caravan. Loud humming noise upon

Misalignment of the belt, incorrect belt, worn or loose tensioner, Too tight of an adjustment (many service centers do this on purpose so when the belt breaks in it becomes properly adjusted, I do not believe in this philosophy), The belt is actually one long belt called a serpentine belt.....

SOURCE: 2006 dodge grand caravan-car won;t start.

Test at the spark plug if you are getting current there with a cheap spark plug tester, if not, it could be the spark box. ( it used to be an ignition coil on older cars ) double check the computer for codes which may lead to a cam sensor not giving the PCM information.

2003 dodge caravan will not start. Makes a clicking noise, and dash shuts off, then makes a humming sound.

im going to say an almost dead battery .the hum you hear might be the fuel pump.you never heard it before because the van normaly starts .so boost your van if it starts you may have to replace the altenator the guages, no worries many cars do that .thats a code needing erased and if you disconnect the battery that may go away.

Which fuse is the one for the door locks

The 2005 Dodge Caravans have software problem in the BCM that causes the power locks to quit working. The only fix is to bring the van to a dealer for a software flash update.Read more: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Where_is_the_fuse_located_for_power_door_locks_on_a_2005_Dodge_Grand_Caravan #ixzz271oz6ROB

disconnect the battery cable and pull the BCM fuse and do system reset and the door locks may work fine again.

also ro try to get the power door locks working. pull and reinstall (but not replace) all fuses and fuse blocks (but not the relays). The locks may start working after that.

disconnecting and reconnecting the lamp and horn relays may fix same issue with the locks.
Several people suggested resetting the fuses under the hood, and it worked. Others tried unplugging and plugging back in the battery and that also worked for them.

I have a 2006 dodge caravan and it won't start

Car no start problem is sometimes very difficult to confirm. You try all the possible things, but still you get no fault and problem is still the same.--------
In that case, you need to check few things individually.
Check the spark, the battery, the crank, the fuel and other most possible parts. Click this link below for more details:-- http://howtobyme.blogspot.com/2011/10/car-troubleshooting-tips.html

When I try to start the van, it's a 1985 dodge ram wagen. Anyway I try to start it and I get nothing. The lights work, the radio works, but I get nothing from it when I try to start it. Replaced the...

Try boosting the van.If that works then you either need to clean the cables and battery posts or you need a battery. If boosting it does not work then you may need a starter or the cables to it have came loose, also the engine ground could be the culprit,if this is true then put your booster cables in this configuration;positive to positive and negative from the boosting cars negative post to your engine's block, find a good clean grounding point on the block and hook the clamp there. If the van starts then clean the factory ground point, replace the cable end,or replace the cable.Let me know if none of this info helps and i will give you more things to try.

My 2003 dodge caravan would not start after driving about 1/2 hour. I stopped for coffee and when got back in to start it started I switched gears and it stalled. I tried to start again switched gears then it started but only for 2 sec. No clicking, no cranking sound just would not start but battery functions were great. Spent 2 days with a mechanic who could not resolve so sent to Dodge. After a day of putting wires back and checking out the problem they said it was the computer. Said that it was bad and could be replaced at no charge due to malfunction. Yes, it worked fine afterwards no more problems. They also said that some of the computers are found to be defective like this one so I hope this helps you in the right choice to have the dealer check it out if you are unable to get a computer reading and there is no obvious short in the system. Free sounded very good but as you know there is no such thing as really free as they got me for other things $350 worth. ouch!

You need to do a complete tune-up on the van. If the battery is 4 years old or older then replace the battery. If not check fluid level in each cell, if low you can fill to correct level with distilled water. then you can charge the battery. Using a volt meter you can check the alternator at the positive post on battery with the van running to see if it is charging correctly. You should have 14.5 volts to 15 volts. check the air filter and replace if dirty. Check the spark plugs and replace old plugs. replace the fuel filter on van. hope this will help you.

I would suggest to check the battery first, normally the votage should be above 12V. You can try boost from another car, if the van starts, then replace the battery.
