Have ranger 8 225 w/onan engine. Will not run at low rpm stutters but runs in fast idle.

Do you have check engine light, what is the code if you do. My brother had a 2000 ranger and the codes helped me fix it.

What could cause the car to stutter when under load going up hill.

It sounds to me like a passing gear issue. Or even and Over Drive issue. Try this to find out. When you put the car in gear, instead of O/D, try regular drive. If you have a push button O/D then deactivate it. If you only have Drive, then try shifting into 3. Run the car up to the same speeds you were having problems with. If you don't have the issues with the higher RPM's then it is an Overdrive/Highway gear issue. If it still stutters, then it could be a fuel delivery issue. Good luck.

Insufficeint fuel delivery bucks chugs and backfires

I believe you have a fuel pump failing. It is in the tank and fairly simple to change. The hard part is getting the tank low enough to disconnect the lines and wires without breaking them. It goes back in the way it came maybe even easier. be sure to drain fuel from tank before re-installing. Try changing the fuel filter first before you take the fuel tank from the vehicle just to be sure it is the fuel pump. This may save time and knuckles. Good luck and have fun.

My 95 bmw wagon runs rough when yo accelerate but runs smooth when you let off what could it be . also when you idle at a light it sounds like it is going to die. and hills are the worst

try replacing the fuel filter do a top engine clean test the fuel pressure for fuel pressure, if it's low you will need t replace the fuel pump and fuel sock.

Problem while driving 1987 jeep cherokee

Your engine is stumbling "off idle" - as it switches from idle to throttle control. The idle air motor regulates the air flow and engine speed at idle. If the idle is smooth but the stumble occurs just as the throttle is pressed this isn't the problem, The MAP sensor is mounted in the middle of the firewall behind the engine just below the hood. It has to sense the manifold vacuum drop when the throttle is opened. This my first suspect. Second would be the fuel pressure regulator. If it runs O.K. after you get it going, this is a weak suspect unless it loses power when pulling. A bad fuel pump, again low fuel pressure. Just like the squirt from the accelerator pump in the carburetor days, the injectors have to deliver a good stiff shot of fuel when the throttle opens to keep the engine from stumbling. The MAP sensor will tell the ECM a squirt is needed but the fuel system has to have the pressure to deliver.

1997 ford e 350 v-10 stutters when accelerating. Smooth otherwis

The fuel pump is on top of gas tank inside, you have to lower the tank, unless is mounted on gas tank side, follow fuel lines, thy are two, one main and one return, the fuel filter is on the main under driver
