Replace the battery in the remote control, clean the emitter lens on the remote control, and clean the face of your receiver. Should solve the problem.
Please check & ensure the infrared is emiting from the remote control. Though we cant see this infrared beam with bare eyes, there is a trick to do so in http://www.unique-stuff.co.cc/fixing_remote_control_check_infrared.html Most of the problems is weakened infared beam. Programming When Remote control added or replaced. System malfunction. How Obtain all remote controls. A maximum of 3 remote controls can be programmed. Switch ignition ON. Repeat procedure below 3 times: Within 4 seconds: Press lock or unlock button. Within 4 seconds: Switch ignition OFF. Within 4 seconds: Switch ignition ON. Within 4 seconds: Press lock or unlock button. System should now lock or unlock vehicle. Within 4 seconds: Press lock or unlock button. Within 10 seconds: Press lock or unlock button of first remote control. System should now lock or unlock vehicle. Press lock or unlock button of second remote control. System should now lock or unlock vehicle. Press lock or unlock button of third remote control. System should now lock or unlock vehicle. Switch ignition OFF. Remove key. Check operation of all programmed remote controls. NOTE: If less than 3 remote controls are to be programmed, remove ignition key after programming last remote control.

Procedure 1. Switch Ignition ON and leave the key in the ignition.
2. Mechanically lock the vehicle using the Drivers door using a second key.
3. Using the remote control press the Unlock button once, and the horn will sound once.
4. Wait 6 seconds and press the unlock button once to activate the coding procedure. The remote control will now be programmed.
NOTE : When performing programming on additional remotes the procedure is the same, except you press the unlock button 2, 3 or 4 times for the different remote.
For example : If programming 2 remotes press the unlock button twice with a 1 second interval between each press, repeat for 3 and 4 remotes.
5. Switch Ignition OFF.
6. Remove key from ignition and check for operation.
7. The coding procedure can be repeated up to 4 times for additional remotes.
8. The ignition must be switched OFF between programming each remote control.
Remote Control Erasing (1997 ON)
Procedure 1. Switch Ignition ON and leave the key in the ignition.
2. Mechanically lock the vehicle using the Drivers door using a second key.
3. Press the remote control unlock button 5 times in 1 second intervals. A short horn will sound.
4. Wait 6 seconds and press the unlock button once to activate memory erase.
5. Switch ignition OFF, all remotes are now erased.
The battery in the 7777 remote is a CR2032. If upon changing the battery the remote fails to work then you should stand next to the car and hold down both remote buttons for around 10 seconds to reactivate it. The remotes LED will flicker rapidly during this process. Keep holding both buttons until the LED stops flickering then release both buttons. The LED should now be on constant, press the larger of the two buttons and the remote should now be re-synced. Note: This procedure is not to program the remote to the alarm, but to re-synchronise it.
No, not true. We replace remotes regularly, and have never had a need for a "working" remote. The keyless entry system does not "disable" itself. Hope this helps.
