According to my parts guide, the fuel pump for your 97 Olds Aurora fits only that and the 97 Buick Riviera's and nothing else. The pump for a 99 Park avenue comes up as a different part number. Hope this helps!
On your fuel pump question between 1997 and 1996, the Fuel pumps are different and are not interchangeable. Some vehicles and years are, and some are not.And there is no way that you could possibly modify the pump safely enough to make it work.I hope I could help!!
Fuel Filter
1997 Oldsmobile Aurora 4.0L SFI DOHC 8cyl
The Fuel Filter is located:
Under vehicle, driver side, below seating area, front of fuel tank, mounted on frame rail in fuel line
when in the drive mode engines use more fuel, you may have a plugged up fuel filter or your fuel pump may be going bad.
id check the filter first.

The door chime is a victim; it is just telling you the lights are still on.
The relay responsible for the headlights probably has welded contacts and will need replacement.
If you know where the fuse box is located, you can temporarily disable the headlights by pulling the fuse and the relay (which should be identified) is probably also in the box.
