Why horn wont work

Dont worry about a horn. You dont need one. You still got a middle finger right?.

Replace the one that smokes, not both of them.

There are two horns on your vehicle. A high tone horn and a low tone horn. Sounds like the high side went bad and needs replaced...you can get these horns at almost any parts store. I personally recommend freeway blasters they are louder than most factory horns and sell for around 20 bucks a piece, also if you choose to replace the bad horn I would just go ahead and replace them both if you can afford it.

could be horn (high or low tone?) could be fuse if both arent working or clock spring.

Hi, the original manufacturer's horn is behind the passenger side fog light. VW Passat models have one low tone and one high tone horn so you will need to identify the one that you need if you are only replacing one horn.

Hi: Most vehicles have 2 horns, a high tone and a low tone.
Usually you lose one or the other , but not both. Has your vehicle been in deep water? That can cause horns to fail, and Horns do fail, as they have a electrical vibration coil that can sieze up or quit. If you have checked your fuse, and verified that you have 12 volts at the horn electrical plug, the horn has failed. The horn switch in the steering wheel can be bad too.

This is suspect too, if you don't have the voltage at the horns.

Some cars use a low tone horn and high tone horn and they face each other to produce the right sound frequency. One of those horns is probably bad.

You need a new horn.

SOUNDS LIKE DEFECTIVE HORN ELEMENT REPLACE THE ACTUAL HORN... KEEP IN MIND MANY CARS HAVE TWO HORNS,...... A HIGH TONE AND A LOW TONE

you will need some help , but unplug the horn and then depress the horn inside the car and you will be hable to hear a clicking noise, either inside the car or in the engine comparment, have some one locate the noise while you keep depresing the horn on and of to get it ti click on/off
and other thing there is many cars with only one horn make sure to try contacting the dealer and ask for service department and ask for it, you should be hable to do it by phone using yellow pages, or getting the phone number at by calling 411
