Hi there . I'm having problems with my 1997 Opel corsa utility . It starts and idle smooth but after about 20 seconds it splutters and die , if I press the petrol it starts to splutter and die . Usually it would also start after the first idle but if I started and idled it two times then it simply won't start after that ---- if I leave it a few minutes and try again it will start again idle nicely for a few seconds then die Any ideas ?

I'd guess: not enough fuel flow. could be a fuel filter, fuel pump, fuel pump relay, fuel pressure regulator. No check engine codes? I would think there should be some that would help diagnose.

Fuel restriction and vacuum leaks ate what I would suspect first . TPS with bad spots in its travel , dirty injectors, carbon on throttle plates and bore cause idle stalling by restricting airflow at idle . Throttle body gasket leaks, PCV and EGR are vacuum leak possibilities .
prime system by switching on the ignition three times for 15 seconds each time.then operate starter maximum 30 seconds. if engine still dont start wait 5 seconds repeat the procedure.if engine does start idle rough run engine fast idle speed for one minute purge air out the lines until engine run smooth.
