I am trying to change out the stereo in a 97 toyota avalon. When doing a test with a 9v I am unable to get a pop in any of the speaker and I have tried every wire combination.

the problem that im having is that i cant find what wires got to each speaker... ive tried a 9 volt battery to get the speaker to make a crackling sound, but i cant seem to find the + and - of the same speaker to complete the circuit. ive gone through all 12 wires with all possible combinations and finally called it a night... please help me if you can... i just need to know how to find the two wires that go to each speaker... thanks a million!!!

Toyota Avalon 2004 radio do not work. It turns on but no sound. Some people say may be amp problem because speakers works.

The amp should have it's own inline fuse but if there is no sound it could also mean the radio has died or antenna is disconnected. Any stereo installation shop can find the problem without too much cost.

What is the wirer color diagram 1999 toyota avalon car stereo radio wiring diagram radioconstant12v+wire??

Hi Slick, From my experience working on Toyota motor vehicles, they don't use colour coding. You'll need to identify the cables with a voltmeter and an used AA or AAA battery (like those from the TV remote). First find the constant power (which keeps the memory function of the set powered. Then by a process of elimination turn on the ignition and check each of the other cables until you find the ignition switched power. Check to make sure it' switched by turning the ignition on and off. To identify the speaker cables there should be a number of white cables with black tracer lines. Take any pair (removing a little insulation from the end to leave the metal cable open) and hold one cable onto the negative end of the battery and swipe the other cable end over the positive. As you do that the cable speaker will make a popping sound, where by you can identify which speaker is attached to what set of cables. Regards John
