Look for a "3" Amp fuse on the Fuse Block as it will be singularly used for just the Clock and should be clearly marked "Clock." The Clock should have a Red wire running out of it to the Fuse Block to power it. The Clock is typically wired separately. The red wiring will not be in front as it goes into the wiring harness and in the back of the Fuse Block but if you want to hunt for the Clock wire that will be it running out of a segment of the harness heading for the location of your Clock.

Thank you very much for your time, I do not see any 3 amp fuses but will try to track the red wire down. Apparently clocks staying on is an issue with this year of buick. I truly appreciate your help

I have a slow drain on the battery on a 1996 buick Century, I found if i take out the CSTY fuse the drain stops, Now how do I go about finding the cause of the short?/worn wiring that is slowly draining...

Hi, CSTY is abbrevation for courtesy lamps. They can be interrior lamps in the dome, footwell, inside headspace front and rear, map lights, glove box , door jams/panels , under hood and trunk. First verify that all your lights are going off when the doors are closed and key is off. For trunk and under hood courtesy light, use the push switch to verify they do turn off. (I've had a few under hood lights short out and do that) Next would be to remove bulbs one at a time and monitor your battery. (Painstaking, but effective) other than that, you have a short somewhere, lights in the bottom corners of the doors can get moisture and usually corrode first. Good Luck! Mike

Clock light stays on abd drain battery if car sits for a couple days

make sure your DOME light dimmer switch is not on.If light still on the radio, then remove the 10 amp fuse for the radio. If light goes out you can either replace the radio or re-install the fuse each time to listen to your radio. there is a short somewhere causing the radio light to stay on.

Hi, I have a 96 buick century,if i dont use it battery goes dead

The radio in my 1996 Buick century had a clock light that did not go off when the car was shut off, so the battery would go dead after 2 days. Disconnected the radio and all was well. Getting ready for a new radio now.

AC does not engage when turned on

Take the glove box out. Behind the fuse box you will find a big gob of black tape, (it looks like a box shape all taped up. Take the tape off and you will find three inline fuse holders taped together. The AC fuse is the 10 amp one.

How do o remove the radio from my 2002 buick century?

There is a single screw located inside the glove box (on the left side) that needs to be removed. Then just carefully pull out the plastic dash as it is only secured by pushpins. Then remove the 2 screws holding the radio, and unplug the antenna and wiring harness, and it's out.

Fuse box

The fuse box is located in the glove box. When you open the glove box you will see a square black door that says "fuse". Pull door down and foward, fuses are all right there
