I have a 96 trooper the battery light, and the 4wd came on and the heat and air quit working all at the same time. Need to fix it. Any ideas what could cause this

Charge/battery/alternator lamp on is top clue
4wd, ill ignore.
you meant Hvac blower dead.? right, dash blower? same blower for heat and a/c so......???????
that to means blown fuse, or battery went DOA.
battery volts is 12.6v charged. and rested
running its 13.3vdc to 15v if not the alternator is OFFLINE.

with a voltmeter this is 5min work, with out days.? guessing?
ill do why> notparts
battery dead. (or discharged. the charge lamps comes out for alternator dead, due to many reasons, engine stalled,? low engine rpm, 400 is too slow, fan belt fell off or slips.
fuse blown. check fuse?
any were, related to alternator, and battery are suspect if alternator rpm is good.

no guessing here, that be silly, i use the voltmeter 1st.
12vdc across all fuses in all boxes, on both sides of fuse key on
got that?

Could be the ignition switch itself. or if you have a theft deterrent processor signal light then, the key won't work .

I have a 96 Tahoe and just a few days ago it started acting up like it wanted to go into 4WD. It doesn't ingage though, lights flash on the dashboard and then stop. Does anyone have any suggestion

Hi, i have a 1994 isuzu trooper 4wd, 3.2L. all of a sudden the AC stopped working. the little green light on the ac button doesn't go on when pushed, the clutch doesn't engage on the compressor...

2002 ISUZU TROOPER PROCEDURES TO OPERATE THE FOUR WHEEL ENGAGING

Just press the 4wd button on the dash at any speed up to about 40mph and press again to come out .
When you turn the key on and the oil and battery lights are on the little green 4wd light should be on too if its flashing or not on check your fuses in the drivers footwell.

You can remove the dash urself.Its quite simple.4 screws.Then you can check the wire plugs at the back.And you can change the bulbs by twisting the plasic ends,
for your brakes change the pads..

Cant get the 4x4 working

Ok you need to look at a number of issues. The most likely is the oil in the front diff. If its never been changed (quite likely) then that will be the root of the issue. You need to drain and change the oil for the thinnest you can put in - its in the handbook. Run the car for a few hundred miles, and change the oil for the normal one for your conditions, you'll probably find it shifts fine after that. If not, its time to look at solonoids...

99 silverado 4wd went out... transfer case?

a little tip a friend gave me in unlocking the 4wd drive on ramps or hill and then put in neutral let roll back a foot put in park and then let off the 4wd
when in 4wd the hubs get a little heated cause they need greased so they stick into position making it hard to come out of 4wd this which i spoke of i got stuck in the senerio where i almost drove home in 4wd from 300 miles away but i called my friend he told me bought this and so i thought it could help you

your hubs just locked up on you your bearings are going to need to be packed again this is normal for this

My 01 Trooper had problems with the TOD starting last winter. When the switch on the dash is engaged the TOD indicator flashes continually at 4hz but the check lite does not come on. I have vacuum at the...

We have a 1998 Trooper that had the same problem. The fix was an electronic switch for the 4WD - a vacuum sensor - on the front axle that just plugs in. You can see it - if you look under the car from the front, it's mounted in the middle of the front axle. It cost $175 from the dealer. We had somebody install it for $50. Don't know where you live, but they are exposed and can corrode. That's what happened to ours. Good luck - hope it's the same problem. This was an easy fix, and we were pleased.
