Look under the glove box. it is up high and requires removing to the glove box at times to fully access it. it also requires a star bit to remove it. sometimes a philips head will get the job done too. unfortunately the wiring harness gets cooked when this relay fails. you will see this when you take the relay apart. this requires cutting the harness free and putting the wires into the new harness that comes with the repair kit you can buy from the dealership. the kit comes with large size and smaller size wire. you can disregard the smaller size wire. you only need the larger ones. you will see. www.wjjeeps.com is a great reference for repair. tis what i used.

Heater/air conditioner fan only works when on highest setting

Hi there:
At wires going into heater controller in dash check to see if brown/tan wire has voltage with switch in high position. If not replace controller. If it does splice in a new wire between controller and blower motor.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

My 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo is running hot, should I believe it is the water pump? I still have heat.

Yes a bad water pump will definitely cause it to run hot. you'll probably be able to hear it as well as a whinning noise from the front of the engine. Also check for really low or incorrect fluid. jeeps are know for bad water pumps and leaky radiators. the heater pump is a seperate pump from the water pump. Also check for radiator fan opperation while the vehicle is stopped. If the fan is not coming on, it could be a fuse, relay, or intake air temp sensor.

The air conditioning in my 2005 jeep grand cherokee is blowing, but it is not as cold as it should be. I have it on high and it is not cold.  The air is cool, but not cold.

You may have a leak in your freon. If you loose pressure in the system, it stops cooling, Have a pressure test done.

One other thing you can check is the fan. If you have the 4.7 your fan is electric. IF it does not come on when you turn on your A/C you may not be getting enough air through the condenser. Start the jeep with the air on and the hood open. See if the fan is on. (do this when the vehicle is cold, so you can tell if it is commanding the fan on because of the A/C not because of the temp of the motor.

Hope this helps.

Air/fan/heat only works on high in 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee, or it will start again if I open and slam shut my glove compartment.

Check the blower motor speed dropping resistor pack and it's connections. It is located in the ducting airflow of the blower motor.

2003 Grand Cherokee Overheating

This might help you as it looks as though you have an electric fan to cool , there should be a sensor on your radiator hoses upper and lower.they are actually switches triggered by the coolant temperature in side the hose. While your Jeep is sitting idle, shut off the AC as it adds to the heat off the engine not to merntion useing more gas. you should make sure both high and low speeds on the coolant fan work. good luck if this does'nt help check out the post, with more, on the 1995 Jeep heating up..

Heating and air conditioning

The blower motor works on high setting ONLY when the blower resistor is bad. The blower motor resistor is held in place with 2 screws and attached into the heater housing under the right side of the dashboard. You can identify the resistor by the big wires that are connected to the connector. If this heating/cooling system is the auto temp type, the part is a bit high on the price.

Heat/AC Blower fan speed only works on High

Alot of people have the same problem with the fan switch and blown bulbs. There really is no fix for this. Jeep really screwed up when designing the heater control assembly. The cheapest solution is to buy another unit off Ebay. Can always go to the dealer but be ready to PAY for there mistakes.
