You could have a faulty oil pressure sensor. SAFETY FIRST!! block rear wheels and emergency brake, jack up car on left side high enough to get under, place jack stand. disconnect neg. battery cable, get under and locate oil filter, above it is a sensor(switch) with one connector, unplug it, connect battery cable and start engine if the guage does not move, you got it! disconnect battery cable again. get new sensor, any auto parts store, remove old sensor with 3/4" deep socket or sensor socket, install new one, connect the electrical plug in. connect battery, start engine, hopefully, a good oil pressure! Happy switching!
When oil is cold, pressure will read high, but as it warms up pressure indicator should drop to normal. Are you using the correct weight oil for your weather conditions? Running straight 30 weight, or say 20w50 could cause this issue.
