When de-activating the standard, factory fitted, alarm on my Corolla 98 module, the car still does not start.
When alarm is activated no power is provided to the starter, and when turning the key nothing happens.
Now, with alarm de-activiated power is given to started, and engine does turn, but does not start. I have check the distributer, and could not find any problems with it. Have checked spark-plug, no problem with plug, but it seems as if no fire is send though, to egnite the fuel. "Yes there is fuel in the car". We have removed one of the spark-plug and turned the engine, no fire (spark)
Could this be an immobilizer failure, or what can it be, and how can I fix it.
Simple thing to do is have your coils checked.. You should have spark if they are good.. If you still dont then disconnect battery at least 20 - 25 mins see if it resets ecm and alarm. May begin to work properly again..
Put key in ignition turn it to the on position! Leave it for bout hlf hr to 45 mins! Immobiliser should cut out & car should start! Good luck this helped wth our Toyota Corolla 1998 sedan :)
