Stalling issues could be a number of things more than likely a fuel problem could be anything from a fuel pressure regulator to your fuel pump going out

Inside or directly under the distribitor cap is a plastic ring with either one or two wires attached..... these devices fail and not allow the engine to start. It happened on my 88 chevy (305 cu in.). a quick fix is to replace it with a new one.. (Advance Auto) or other parts store.
reverse synchronizer isnt getting proper lubrication or is worn down. Check lines, and change filter and screen or fluid. But normally in cases like this a gear has dropped and wont grip because the teeth cannot clamp when trans wants to spin.
It stalls when I idle, but runs fine when driving
