Open your hood and there are 2 clips on the top of the headlight assembly. Pull up on both of them and the headlight assesbly can be pulled out. You will then simply need to twist and remove the old bulbs from the housing.

SOURCE: 2005 GMC Envoy Locked in 4WD all the time

If your luck it's going to be a $15.00 vacuum switch on the transfer case that takes about 15 min to replace, if it's the electronic solenoid to the transfer case then it's going to be cost a little more and take a little longer. If your try switching from 4WD to 2WD and hear the solenoid working by hearing the cluck's when it engages and disengage then it's going to be the vacuum switch on top of the transfer case on the drivers side. Auto Zone Sell's them for $15.00 and they will have the step by step instructions to replacing the switch. They will also have the transfer case solenoid  too, if you don't hear the solenoid. Check the fuses, the fuse may have gone bad. Good luck and hope this helps.

SOURCE: how do u replace a front wheel bearing on a 2005

Remove center hub cap. Remove large nut behind hub cap.Lift wheel assembly off ground. Remove wheel. Remove brake calipher assembly by taking out larger bolts from back of calipher. Remove brake rotor. Pull axle toward middle of vehicle, you may have to tap axle end with small hammer being careful not to damage threads on end of axle. Remove three bolts from back, bearing housing should come out to the front.

SOURCE: how to replace fuel filter on 2005 GMC Envoy

First check to see if you have a fuel filter. It will be located between tank and engine. Apparently, some Envoys do not have a filter, just a screen mounted on underside of fuel pump which is in fuel tank.

Valve cover leaks

Try replacing the valve cover gasket. If the valve cover gasket still leaks oil after replacement try adding standard 1/4 lock washers to the top of the valve cover bolts. I have a 2005 Suzuki Reno and had to replace the valve cover gasket several times. Adding the washers tightened the seal of the gasket and prevented any leaking,

Where can I find the purge valve solenoid on 2005 gmc envoy

You can see physical location and the procedure how to replace purge valve solenoid in GMC Envoy on: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9C8nR6iv7A

Procedure:
DTC P0496 - Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System Flow During Non-Purge

If the EVAP purge valve does not seal properly, fuel vapors could enter the engine at an undesired timing causing drivability concerns. The control module tests for this by commanding the EVAP purge valve OFF closed and vent valve ON closed, sealing the system, and monitoring the FTP for an increase in vacuum. If the control module detects that Evap system vacuum increases above a calibrated value, DTC P0496 will be set.

This could be a sign that your purge valve is intermittently failing so you might want to get it checked out before it turns into a bigger problem that affects the drivability of your truck.

EVAP is located behind the throttle body, near the front of the engine...

Fig. Front engine compartment view-4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L and 6.2L engines (1) Throttle Body (2) Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor (3) Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Solenoid Valve (4) Knock Sensor (KS) (5) Engine Block Heater (6) Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor (7) Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor (8) Generator

The first step would be to simply clean the valve and see if that helps. The purge valve will be an inexpensive part (probably $20.00 or so) so I'd usually just replace it instead of trying to test it too thoroughly. I've found it can be a somewhat tough part to come by third party dealers (Napa, Autozone, etc.) So you might have to contact your local GMC dealership parts department to buy the part.

The best thing to do would be to ask the person at the repair dept who sells you the part to copy the page with the replacement guidelines from the service manual. You usually won't have any trouble getting them to do this and then you'll have a good written copy to follow while you change the valve.

The other option would be to have a local mechanic do the replacement for you.

Hope it helps...

How long to replace a water pump on a 2005 Envoy

Since I don't know the configuration of your engine, I can't give you a good answer. But, if the pump is inside your timing cover, and is run off the timing belt, a rough estimate would be about 4 hours labor time. Just a guess, Dale.

Pulled plugs and oil on #6 cylinder,p0303 code changed coil pack now p0300.sluggish ,no burnt oil from exhaust, possible bad valve cover gasket ?

Yes valve cover gasket needs to be replaced, normally for sluggish I would be looking at a MAF mass air flow sensor.

There is oil in the coil packs. we are trying 2 change the plugs and they are 100% full of oil

The valve cover gaskets need to be changed. there are rubber grommets that keep oil out of the spark plug holes that dry out and harden with age. Replace gasket and grommets and oil will stay out.

2005 GMC Envoy 4wd 4.2liter V6 check engine light is on.

The check valve is #12619128 and the gasket is #24577193. I think $65 and $75 respectively you can try websites like parts4chevy.com and gmpartsdirect.com.
your talking about the diverter valve for the AIR pump. In which case it is easy to do and its easily accesible in the engine bay. The valve is located at the passenger side by the transmission dipstick tube under the intake tube. Good luck
