SOURCE: My 1997 VW Golf GL has rattle as I accelerate in first and second

I am going through the exact same problem with my 1997 golf 2.0 I-4.   I am making the assumption that this noise is loudest at about 1200-1500 rpm, or atleast most noticeable.   It could be attributed to a faulty catalytic converter which is a necesarry fix (in order to smog), and being that your O2 sensor is hooked into that whole system, you could be potentially giving away a few mpg.  This a relatively easy issue to deal with, and noise should go away when the converter is replaced.

SOURCE: 95 nHonda Passport water leak, pump body is dry

The pump may leaking from a weep hole at the bottom of the pump. If the shaft seal goes bad, the hole allows the anti-freeze to leak out.

My 2001 Plymouth leaks coolant got to add bout twice a week been doing it 2 weeks now it doesn't run hot is it the water pump going out

check the engine for where the water is leaking. I had an engine leaking at the back side and it was corroded
Welsh plugs in the engine. If it was the water pump water it would be leaking out the water pump. Check Hoses with engine hot . Also check exhaust pipe is not blowing steam out from a blown head gasket.

Hi guys,,,i just purchased a 1991 nissan navara manual diesel has old rusty water in it need to empty do i refill with new water or antifreeze in radiator cheers

Always use a 50/50 mixture of coolant/antifreeze and purified water. Flush the system thoroughly first of all or as much rust as possible, put a radiator sealer in it as well like a product called "Alumaseal" which is the most recommended sealer I know of. You can buy it on Amazon if you can't find it in your country (Aussie?)

My 2001 Terracan highlander has coolant leaking under the engine. Can someone tell me where the leak is coming from and how to fix it? The car has a v6 3.5l engine.

Could be welsh plugs on side of engine are corroded.
Could be a smaller pipe like a heater hose pipe or an auxilary cooling pipe .Had one of these little extra pipes on a mitsubishi sigma under the inlet manifold that was leaking.
Did you use a coolant in the engine as water can corrode welsh plugs in engines as I found out on my car !.

After changing thermosat car is now smoking a lillte from the driver side radiator area

Smoking where.? tail pipe end.?
over heats, when, moving at 60mph
or only stopped.?
if that smoke is during a hot running motor, and is steam
the head gasket blew (or worse)
oil smoke burnt lingers a long time, steam goes away fast like tea pot.
smoke smells like burned oil, steam smells disgusting sweet due to
the coolant is 1/2 Glycol.
over heating has many reasons.
only stopped?, bad rad, bad pump, bad stat, bad fan clutch.(or elect fan)
fails to over heat moving, usually is bad fan (action)
steam at tail is coolant burning.

No leaks, put new water pump on.steam coming out exhaust pipe.no water in oil/

could be a inlet manifold gasket leaking into the inlet side and its burnming water but a head gasket can go without oil in the water or visa versa ,it can even blow between two cylinders and still not loose water just lose power and chuff a bit

I have a 4 cyl s10. and i replaced the water pump cause it had been leakin. right before i cranked it. i put 1 gallon of antifreeze and half of water. then i started it and it started leaking anti freeze...

have the cooling system pressure tested
indicates a rusted out welsh plug in the head anti freeze and water is mixed in the ratio of 50:50 or 1:1 or 50%
so a gallon of water would require a gallon of anti freeze
That figure is the best to prevent corrosion and freezing of the coolant

Engine temp reading 3/4,new water pump, new thermostat, clean oil and new filter,no sign of water in oil,no steam out rear pipe, engine runs poor once hot, water pipes not tight when hot.head gasket? what you...

Remove thermostat and run the vehicle. do your hoses get tight now? If so, your new thermostat was not opening up. test it by putting it into a pot of water and bring up the temp on your stovetop. if the water boils, and the thermostat isnt open, then get a refund and a new thermostat. Be sure to point the spring end of the thermostat into the engine block when replacing. If your thermostat did open, then your water pump may be shot.

Buzzing problem from my citi golf chico dashboard

the buzzing is most likely the speedo cable ive had a few older cars that do this you might try having someone oil the cable if they can or you can as for the oil light it might be low oil pressure or a bad oil level sensor or even a dirty plug on the sensor
