If your interior lights are not turning off, you probably have the override switch turned on. This is located in front headliner area and has a light icon on it. This switch forces the interior lights on, even when all of your doors are shut, or if you are driving.

If doors are not showing open, it's the dome switch that is turned on or bad.

SOURCE: Interior Lights not workin on Dashboard/gear Shift

The problem is probably a blown fuse. Check the owner's manual for location of the fuse panel, find the fuse marked instrument panel (or similar), and put in a new fuse. If the new fuse blows, there is a short which will have to be located and repaired.

SOURCE: 2003 Toyota Highlander clock resets when I turn off the ignition

Have you checked any fuses? Does the climate control light up? If not then in the under hood fuse box (left of drivers side) check the ECU-B fuse should be 7.5 amp. Check the heater fuse in the fuse box inside the car it should be 15 amp. If the fuses are OK and only the clock is bad check out my site www.autoclockrepair.com I offer a repair service.

SOURCE: what causes a toyota highlander VCS warning

When your VSC (Vehicle Stability Control) light comes on, it means your car has been forced to take evasive action to avoid a dangerous situation. For example, if you're driving on an icy or wet, slippery road, and take a turn too sharp or accelerate too quickly, the vehicle will automatically reduce acceleration or apply pressure to the brakes to prevent the car from losing control. In this situation the VSC indicator light will light up to alert you that the action was taken, and remind you to slow down - or to be extra careful. Be safe!

SOURCE: 2002 Toyota highlander passenger brake light not working

RE: 2002 Toyota Highlander 2.4cyl. 4X4 Base Model

I am a Certified Technician and have basic knowledge with electronics in electrical wiring. I searched the web and discovered this is a common problem.

I fixed the problem and it was a simple procedure... The problem is with the reverse light socket at the side with no brake light. This socket functions as a hub to direct current to the brake bulbs.

Remove reverse light socket and re-seat bulb. Check for loose or broken prongs. Replace if necessary.

Swap the reverse socket with the other side.

My 2009 highlander interior light stays on

A lot of cars have a 3-position switch for the dome light - On all the time, on only when door is open, and off completely.

I would start by checking the switch position.

If it's on "door" and still will not turn off when the door is shut, I would go through each door, checking each one's open-door sensor (it's a switch usually somewhere on the threshold of the door).

You may have a bad switch.

If all else fails, you could just take the bulb out. :)

How do you remove lens cover to change out the light bulb in the interior dome light in a 2003 Highlander.

Look very closely at the lens cover, you will see two small slots at the edge of the lens, use a small screwdriver and pry in those slots to pop the lens cover off.

Turn off switch for the hybrid battery on an 07 highlander

You have to pull off all of the rear interior trim panels to expose the hybrid battery. On the driver side of the HV battery, there is a large plug in device, that looks like a two-pronged plug. Extract it, and the HV battery will be disconnected.
