DOOR PANEL REMOVAL

The door module for that door is actually located inside of that door. You have to remove the door panel to gain access to it. Each door has it's own module on your car;)

there are a few ways of doing this, one if to have them repaired at a shop that does interrior work or just go on the web and type in 2002 deville door panels and sites will pop up , the last way is to go to the dealer, they will give you the exact fit and color but will cost, hope this helps, also try a junk yard.

check for hidden screws (such as behind inside door trim and in the arm rest) make sure all of the screws are out (you should have 6+ when you are done) then a flathead screwdriver can be inserted between the door panel and the door and wedged off of the door. (make sure that the power lock/window switches are disconnected to prevent damage to the units) the clips that hold the door to the panel are gm plastic and will come off with a little force and a few pops. when you are ready to replace the panel align the plastic screws with the holes and pop back in

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can remove the bolts securing the mirror to the door

You can either go to google ebooks and find a free repair manual for your car, or go to autozone.com and register for free online repair manual.

You will need to remove all screws, then remove window and lock controls, then take large flat-tipped screwdriver and gently pry next to all the plastic studs that hold on panel to door. Once all panel is pried up and loose, just pull straight up and lift off. Then remove plastic without ripping the middle, (You can stick back on later) then you will have access to window motor. It is a 12 volt motor.

To not damage the plastic tabs that keep it flush against the door skin, pick up a tool like this:


You can get this at any autoparts store. Makes removing the panel easy!

Remove all screws and then pop the fastners all around the door panel. Remove slowly but use a little force to get it off...lifting up and clearing the door handle. Voila....it is off.
